What chocolate to use to make choc covered pretzels
I'm planning on making chocolate covered pretzels this weekend for the first time but I have no idea what chocolate to use. I see recipes with semis sweet, sweet but not sure what that means? And what are chocolate chips? Are those the bags of pieces of chocolate that Michael's/AC Moore sell?
I feel like I'm thinking too much about this but I want to get this right as I plan on handing these out to the daycare teachers for Valentine's Day.

The easiest is the chocolate melts from michaels... 50percent power 30sec and stir do that again until melted. If a little to thick add some crisco and oil.

I would use a combination of milk, dark and white chocolate. You can buy the chips at any store or go to a chocolate shop and buy the discs.

Me too. I don't like the wafers from the craft store.

If you go to a chocolate store, they have great tasting chocolate you can melt and use.

I agree with this. I hardly ever use the candy wafers from Michael's unless it's an emergency. Or I need colored chocolate to "paint" a mold.
Nassau County you have The Chocolate Duck and in Suffolk County there is Kerri's Kandies.

Thanks for the tip. Stop and shop has the nestle bags on sale this week. Perfect!
What is a double boiler? Anyone know how many pretzels I should put in per baggy? I need about 15 bags.

For the double boiler you can just place a metal bowl over a pot with water in it. Make sure the water does not touch the bottom of the bowl. The water should be hot but not boiling.

the bowl can be glass, too (like if you have a pyrex mixing bowl)
but you really don't need a double bowler. i always melt in the micro... heat for 20 seconds, stir. repeat until melted.
