what did u get ur bachelors in..and then ur masters?..

my bachelors is in communications, i am most likely going back for my masters sometime next yr around this time..i am unsure of a "major" or focus...

can any1 shed some light?

I did undergrad in English because I was unsure what I wanted to do....then I decided i wanted to teach so I went back for my Masters in Secondary Education.

I can't speak for me, I need only to have an Assoc. in my field........but some examples:
My sister did undergrad in Art (Illustration)....masters in education & is now an Art Teacher.

DH did undergrad in psychcology....getting his masters in social working

My bachelors is also in communications. i was going to go to law school, but then wound up getting a free master's in Human Resources where I work, and am finishing up my doctorate in education administration.

I think an MBA is a good master's for a degree in communications.

ETA: My degree in HR is not helpful. Most of the higher level jobs require years of experience, so even with a master's in it I would be starting as an HR generalist and taking a big pay cut. But, it was a stepping stone on my way to a doctorate, plus some jobs only require a master's and don't really care WHAT master's, so it was helpful in that respect. I also now teach grad courses in HR.

Also check how the job market is for the degree you want--I have sooo many friends with the master's in school counseling who have been unable to find jobs.

I did my bachelors in communication, a masters in tv/film, and a masters in student development practices in higher ed. I am currently pursuing an EdD.

I could get my MBA- but it's really isn't necessary for my field- I went thru the macy's executitive training program- which is looked upon very highly in my industry

I have my BS in Psych, and business. My MS is in Health Care Admin./Public Admin. with a certification in Geriatrics.

If you go the MBA route, you can always do a general concentration. If you know the field you'd like to stay in then you can pick a specialized concentration.

MBA - eBusiness and Marketing

Out of undergrad I worked for a bank in a development program. During one of my rotations, I worked in the Marketing group of the Investments division and got introduced to web project management. After the program, I was placed on the eCommerce team and decided that I wanted to stay in that field. That's how I decided on getting a degree in eBusiness and Marketing.

hmm honestly i like the field im in now..events/charity/donations....so i was hoping to get my masters in something that can continue along that path, altho i dont see it as an option in my school, i hafta do a lot more research, i would love to have my masters under my belt since it is paid for by my new job

Don't go for your masters until you're really sure about what you want. it's a huge commitment. You can do it

how about a masters in public relations or event planning?

exactly, thats the relm im thinking of...gotta make an appointment with an advisor--i havent been in school in like 3 yrs, ugh homework!
