What do you all think of this dining set?
I've been searching and searching for something that isn't too traditional and isn't too contemporary. It hasn't been easy! I haven't found anything remotely close to what I like. So I'm thinking of just getting the dining set that matches my china cabinet. I just hate for things to be all matchy-matchy (the two will be in the same room together). And this dining set is slightly plainer than what I wanted, but when the table is set I think it could look pretty nice.

I really like it and I usually always find something I don't like about a set... hence I've been looking at furniture on-line for hours and hours.
I think that's what they call transitional... a bit traditional and a bit modern.

I got the china cabinet from a furniture store in VA. I haven't found the dining set here in CO yet. I may have to order it online which I don't want to do! I need to see it in person....

Exactly. That's my style! Well, I showed DH the picture of the dining set and he doesn't like the cross-hatching on the back of the chairs. I don't either; I think it might be uncomfortable.

Not sure if you have gone to FFO on Long Beach Road in Oceanside...we ordered a little kitchen set from them...but they said if we saw something we liked to bring them a picture and they would get it for cheaper

If I was in NY I'd give it a shot, but DH and I live in CO.

I'm not "matchy matchy" either so I'm not a big fan of it. The double legs would bother me as well. Sorry
Have you thought of going with a lighter wood table, like a distressed oak table, and dark chairs to pull in the cabinet?

Hmmmm....no, I hadn't. You think dark chairs would go with a lighter wood table? I guess I'd have to see it to know if I'd like that.

Yeah, if it's distressed it will. The dark markings in the table will bring in the cabinet and the dark chairs. If the padding is lighter, close to the table color, that will tie it together as well. Then, of course, you may have to search for a table and separately chairs so this may be adding more to your load then you want.
