What do you do for a living and do you like it?

And Im interested in knowing HOW you got your job if you love it..like how much college etc? I would love to know who likes there job and if it was a struggle to acheive.



I work in Customer Service for Empire BCBS. It required no previous skills but it pays very well ...I hate it but again it pays WELL...I have seen too many people with bachelors/masters making less then me to leave unless I found something GREAT.

im a teacher LOVE my job although it has its good days and bad- this HOT week being bad... but i wouldnt want to be doing anythng else!!!

I worked like hell for my job (I'm a civil litigation attorney), but, I absolutely, without a doubt, LOVE LOVE LOVE my job, so it was totally worth it... I could do without the student loans though!

I am a booking agent. I transitioned into it and love it. I started out as the admin to the director of operations and lateraled into customer service and then fell into training for a booking agent. I love it! I have a blast looking for the best possible quotes, talking to hotels, learning the different codes and putting packages together.

Im a high school Special Ed. Teacher, and LOVE it.

i do Account Management for the hospital. i LOVE working for the hospital, and i love my office (supervisors, coworkers, etc...) its a very positive atmosphere, But the work itself isnt my dream job. But i'm going to school for nursing... so in a sense, i love where i'm going, and i enjoy the ride there

I'm teaching middle school. Actually, I have an out of the classroom job as a coach/staff developer. I hate it but my principal does not have anyone to replace me. I don't know what it would be like to switch careers, and I don't even really know what I am qualified for, but I am thinking about getting out.

I work in college administration. I have a master's and am working on my doctorate. I love what I do, but I do not like some of my co-workers, which makes going to work more difficult. Both of my parents worked in colleges, so I feel it was kind of in my blood, though at first I fought it and worked on Wall Street! Made more $$ but sold my soul for the dough.

I am in Human Resources and there are times that I do like it but I ultimately know there is more out there for me - my dream is to be a teacher.

I have a real estate appraisal business, and enjoy it.

There's not much necessary to get into the business (some classes and a state test) though they are changing the regulations in 2008 and requiring a degree, so now's the time to get in. You have to work under a certified appraiser for 2 years before getting your own license and going off on your own.

I was a psych and business major with a BA, and I worked in financial services after college for 6 years (hated that).

I quit my merchandising job after having some complications with my pregnancy, so for the time being, I'm an Avon Representative. My Mother-in-law is pretty high up there in the Avon world, so she got me started. It's an okay job, but mostly a pain in the butt. It's annoying to have to make labels, put them on books, bag the books, and pass them around the neighborhood every couple weeks. It feels like a waste of time, because I haven't had much luck getting customers. MIL keeps insisting that if I'm persistent enough, it will happen.

I work for a Resort Management Company as the GM of one of it's properties. Do I love it? It depends on the day!! For the most part, I do. I'm entering my 15th season Every August I say "this is my last summer" but I continue to stay. It's hard in the summer. Some days you can really get a beating by people. In the off season, it's very peaceful and people are really nice.

I'm a lead developer working in a publishing company's internet technology dept.

Do I love it? I've been here almost 7 yrs (right out of college!) and the answer depends on the day. Overall though, they keep promoting me, which keeps my responsiblities fresh, the pay is great, and my boss is laidback, so here I stay.

LOL. Id like to do w/out the loans too, I am an attorney too and Like my job. Where do you practice?

I am a legal secretary. I like it but it is not what my Bachlor Degree is for.

I work for a Liability Insu rance Company I am a liability adjuster support specialist.. do I love it NO but I like it .. it pays the bills ... I work Monday -Friday 28 days vacation ... and am payed well so I guess I can't say I hate it but I do not Love it either.

I'm a fund-raising consultant employed by one of the largest non-profit consulting firms in the world. I got into Development (fund-raising) straight out of college in pursuit of my dream to help people (and not make a bunch of shareholders richer). I've got a BS in business management - but I see people with all sorts of degrees in my field.

Basically I work on an assignment basis and help my clients to raise money from large-scale gifts for capital and endowment projects. It might not sound glorious - but I absolutely love it! I've worked for a church where the priest cried at the end of my 4 month contract because I helped to make his dreams come true. I worked at a hospital in NJ for two years and helped them raise enough money to knock down some old buildings and bring in high-tech equipment. I've worked for European organizations - bringing a new level of generosity to their culture (well, some, anyway). It's so rewarding!

Money is great - commute stinks most of the time - - - but the work is so rewarding it compensates!
