Re: What do you do for a living and do you like it?
I am a Registered Nurse I currently work in the Labor & Delivery dept. While I do enjoy it, the hours and the drama of working w/too many women keep me from totally loving it!

I am a school psychologist and I really do like what I do... I just am not thrilled with were I do it (NYC Board of Ed). I'm still searching for the "right" school, but I do like what I do.

I'm a legal secretary - I like it enough to stay here, but I don't like it enough to hope that one day I won't ever have to work!
I wonder what company you work for.

I am a formulation chemist in R&D for the personal care industry. Basically, I create new products for our clients, based on what their marketing people want. I'm sure some of you have used at least one of the products I have worked on... our clients range from high end to mass-market... very well known brands.

I am a teacher... most days I like it... but there are some that I think I was crazy for changing careers....I have had very tough classes this year... but now that it's just about over, a teeny tiny part of me is looking forward to next year.

Re: What do you do for a living and do you like it?
I am a funeral director..... I have an Associates in Applied Sciences..... that just means my associates degree require me to take more science classes then I really cared for!!!
I SO LOVE what I do..... I can almost always leave work feeling like I made a difference to a family by making them try to remember the good things, not the sickness or sadness. I mostly direct the funerals, so I have a LOT of contact with the families..... 95% of what I do is people oriented..... most people just assume I like to play with dead people & that I am weird & morbid!!!
ETA to add to what Donna asked.... No, it was not a struggle to achieve my degree, but it was difficult to finally land a job doing all aspects of funeral directing & getting a salary that reflected my hard work.....

I work as a claim adjuster for Progressive Insurance. I found this job on their website and their requirement is that you have a bachelors degree-- and it can be in anything. I really enjoy the job but it is very stressful.

Oh Yes!!! Since I was 14 years old!! I have no family in the business, like most people who get into it. It started as a ....."I am women.... hear me roar!!" kind of thing! I read an article when I was a high school freshman about the funeral directors program at Nassau Community.... in the article it stated that funeral directing was a male dominated industry..... well that P I S S ED me off!! It was sort of to prove myself at first.... but when I got my first job.... I fell in love with what I do!!!
Was your uncles funeral on Long Island? Maybe I know the director!!!

I'm a marketing coordinator for an IT company. I started in sales and worked my way to this position. I don't particularly love it, BUT it pays the bills

Re: What do you do for a living and do you like it?
As of July 1st I will be a Quality Control Assistant Project Director for a MArketing Research Firm. Right now I am a QC Analyst.
Do I like the job, Yes I like what I do sometimes. It is interesting work, and boring at the same time. Its the same thing over and over again. I enjoy working on special projects, and learning how to use new programs though. The vacation days, and benefits are really good here, and so are my hours, 6am to 2pm.
Anyone hiring???
My other job is Car Detailing. I love it. I work by myself, for myself, and I make my own hours. I work afternoons and weekends, and if I dont want to work one day, I wont schedule a car for that day.

I worked like hell for my job (I'm a civil litigation attorney), but, I absolutely, without a doubt, LOVE LOVE LOVE my job, so it was totally worth it... I could do without the student loans though!
LOL. Id like to do w/out the loans too, I am an attorney too and Like my job. Where do you practice?
I live right outside Philadelphia, so I practice at a small litigation firm in downtown Philly... yourself?
I am in Nassau County, Real Estate and now learning some Bankruptcy

Re: What do you do for a living and do you like it?
Right now I am a full time SAHM, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
I also work PT for the Environmental Company I worked for before becoming a SAHM. It's interesting work, being a consultant to every type of business available that have environmental issues to worry about (from permitting to oil tanks, to boilers, to pharmaceuticals, etc.).

I am Admin Assist for Investment Bankers. It is a nice job, I don't have any problems and I am satisfied with the pay. It isn't what I went to school for, but it is working well for us now.
