What do you DO with an infant all day?
My son is 2 weeks old and although he sleeps most of the day, I am at a loss as to what to do with him when he is alert. I don't want to sit him in front of the TV (not that he can see it yet) so I try to read or sing to him, even though I know he can't understand. I just feel so guilty plopping him in a bouncy chair when he is awake. What do you all do to bond with/entertain your newborns?

Talk to them, sing to them, carry him around, cuddle with him, rock him.
Infants are really boring!

I have the same issue. My daughter is 3 months and i find myself trying to figure out how to entertain her. Talk to you baby and walk around your home and "show" the baby the home.

Do you have the playgym? At that age Kerri would spend time under there and I would lay with her

Aside from what all the other posters have posted, I used to and still play games with Molly such as ...I say "Where's Molly's toes?" I then tickle, pull, touch, the body part I listed and say "There's Molly's toes!!!". She loves it now and makes her laugh.

We play all sorts of games. I sing songs and move his hands and feet. He loves when I sing the wheels on the bus. He started smiling at 6 weeks and I think its from playing so much.

she sleeps a lot. when she's up we talk- i tell her whatever I'm doing- I sing to her- read a book- she does tummy time on her play gym.
really- the world is sooo new to them, they really don't need to be entertained- just seeing everything for the 1st time and being outside of the womb is enough for their little brains to handle.

I feel the same way. I talk to them and sing to them and hold them whenever I can. I put them on their mat for tummy time, but they Kvetch the whole time! Mostly they sit in their swings and stare at the lights and shadows in the den. That makes me feel guilty...I feel like I should be doing more to stimulate them, but nothing I do seems to work!

I did (and still do) the same thing!

I still have the same issue, and mine is 7 months old. I just don't know how to entertain her all day.

I constantly feel like i'm not doing enough. Jack loves the toys that hand on the infant to toddler rocker, the musical arch, and his playmay, BUT I feel like after he plays with any of them he seems over-stimulated. I doubt this helps but here's some
