What do you do with your loose coins?
ETA - I save the stuff in my car to cash in every few months....
and also save some of it in my daughter's room in her piggy bank and eventually we'll cash it and put it into her account...

Re: What do you do with your loose coins?
I put them in a piggy bank and then I cash them and either use them towards a vaccation or something DH and I really wanted but didn't want to spend on- like couples massages or something.
Lately though- i've been saving all spare change for the baby to kick start her bank account.

Re: What do you do with your loose coins?
IMO there is no need for coinstar machines anymore. Just go to commerce bank. you don't have to be a member and they do free coin counting in thier machines. i did that for a few years even before I joined the bank.

Re: What do you do with your loose coins?
I have an "other" response. DH & I have one of those old, thick glassed water jugs. We put all of our change in it - pockets, wallets, $1's left over from delivery dinners .... It has a lot in it already, but we're not going to touch it until we buy a house ... we figured it will be good to wait to see how much we have.

We keep our coins in an old Utz pretzel container too! Although we will usually roll it every $200 or so and deposit it into our kids 529 accounts.

Re: What do you do with your loose coins?
I save it then put it in our ING account. I also save my singles, I used to keep spare change in a jar, but I like it to earn some interest.

We are doing the same thing! Our old water jug has about 5" of coins and bills and I can't lift it!! I can't imagine how heavy it's going to be when we fill it up!

Same here! That's practically why I buy that big container! It also serves as a laundry coin container, so we throw money in, but take out quarters when we have to do wash.

We use the same type of thing, an old glassed water jug
Also as you said we put change in it, singles we find in out pockeets , anything 'left over" ..
One time we cashed it out and got about $400 . Now we've been saving it for awhile and won't touch it until the baby is born

Re: What do you do with your loose coins?
We have a hugh water jug that we throw any loose change in. It's going to take forever to fill!! If it ever does fill I will probably take it to Commerce and get the cas for it. I dunno what I would do with the $$. Maybe go to Italy!

Re: What do you do with your loose coins?
Save it for a while. We used to roll it, but Coinstar now waives the fee if you turn the money into an Amazon gift card. We both buy a lot of work-related books (and books for fun) so we're happy with that.
