my sanity. peace of mind.
we went to beach for a bday getaway. after one night in the hotel, josh's asthma back. we came home a day early.
3 hours in a car with him and labored breathing. Up giving treatments last night. Hanging outside his class today just in case he had another attack.
We were doing so well...I was feeling back to normal...now this. takes me back quicker then anything to my year of hell.
Just having a bad day was suppose to be at the beach again today. Instead I am home with a boy who wants freedom but I can't let him go.
things i love: my boy. he is wonderful in every capacity. my baby girl. with her, it was just an instant easy love. she is so sweet and happy.

I miss going out with my friends all night and not worrying about being functional in the morning, and miss being spontaneous a little, though to be honest I was always a planner.
But none of that compares at all to the sounds of her giggle, the smile on her face when she sees me for the first time in the morning, staring into each others eyes as I feed her, seeing her with DH and how much they love each other, the look of contentment on her face when she's sleeping cuddle up to me, and millions of other precious moments that would take pages and pages to describe.

Miss sleep sex nights out with friends and DH Date nights trips out of town Vegas
Love Hearing the name "mommy" kisses and cuddles hearing my children giggle together family dinners watching their amazement as they learn something brand new seeing them grow up Taking photos of them everyday seeing my mom and dad so excited to be grandparents Seeing my sister love being a godmom and aunt Seeing my DH in a whole new light being a family
I think the first few years are the hardest on your personal time since they are so needy. I am getting more time to myself as they get older and DH is able to handle more by himself. He is NOT a baby type person even though he loved them. I am getting a weekend away in July with my girlfriends that I am SO happy about and DH and I starting to have date nights.
You will love it.

Re: What do you miss pre-children? What do you love about being a Mom?
I miss being able to stay out past 7:30pm. I miss being able to lie around on the weekends and do nothing. I miss having time to myself. I miss being able to come and go at a moments notice. I miss the ability to be lazy and do nothing when I don't feel well.
BUT...................................................
I also LOVE being a mom. I love watching my DD grow and change every day. I LOVE spending time with her and taking her to experience new things. I LOVE cuddling with her on the couch. I LOVE sitting on the floor and playing games with her. I LOVE the way she makes this cute little crinkle nose face when she's happy about something. I LOVE how every time she learns something new or does something well she runs over and throws her arms around me and says, "Hug". I LOVE looking at my baby pictures and seeing how much of a little "mini-me" she is. I LOVE every day, hour, minute, and second with her. And despite what I miss I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my new life and I wouldn't go back for a second. The past 20 months have been the BEST 20 months of my life!
