What do you save for sentimental reasons?

Just a question out of curiosity. Whenever DH buys me roses, I save one petal and put it in a memory book that I have from when we were dating. I put it under clear packing tape to seal it in and write the date and occasion next to it. I just did this today for a petal from my graduation roses. And it prompted me to wonder what other crazy things do people save for memories?

I am not very sentimental so I don't really save too much. It kind of makes it odd that I love scrapbooking, doesn't it?

almost nothing, my DH always makes fun of me bc I have no sense of sentiment at all.

I have for the first time saved a few things that my DS made me though.

I save a lot, all notes, cards, flowers...I have 2 baskets full of stuff from the past 9 years

I have like every greeting card I've ever been given I think... I'm sure I will end up dumping most when I move..

I saved every movie stub when I was a teenager & early 20's.. I don't save them anymore, but probably still have those old ones somewhere

cards & letters that have meant the most to me over the years.

jewelry that even though I don't wear it, still means the world to me.

I have a nightgown my grandmother let me wear the ONE time I remember staying at her house - too small.

I also have a blue sweatshirt and comb that somehow I got from her.

I like the idea about the flowers - I might start that since b/f seems to bring me flowers a lot --- such a change from ex-H.

I save:

Cards
I have notes from HS
My Mom just gave me tooth fairy notes-OMG I should post them here they were funny
My kids clothes-even weird stuff like the tiny hospital gown my son was in when we stayed overnight for RSV

I save cards that DH gives to me. Otherwise, not much else. We always take a lot of pictures when we do things together and that's enough for me

I am not really sentimental but I keep cards that DH gets me.

I also have something from when I was a baby that I keep with me.

I am the least sentimental person, but I've saved any cards DH (and even x-bf's have given me - and I just can't bring myself to throw them away). I've saved tex msgs from DH from when we were dating, but I had to do a few hard resets and they were lost. Sometimes I'll save a movie stub or a reciept from a night that had a lot of meaning (like the first time DH told me he loved me)

Other than that, nothing. Fortunately DH is even LESS sentimental than I am, so he wouldn't care even if by some miracle he noticed.

I've saved every card DH has gotten me from the very beginning of our relationship.

I also save ANYTHING my DS makes! I have bins full of his "artwork"!

I used to save but not anymore, it just piles up and becomes dust collectors for me.

Firsts from DH or DS...

First birthday cards, mother's day cards, anniversary cards.

The first card wher DH signed it "love".

a check for $25 that my Grandmother gave me for my birthday (never cashed) right before she passed away..

I save everythng. Cards and pictures mostly. Sometimes I don't know why, but I just can't part with that stuff.

ETA: In April 2007 I got my Jeep and my Grandpa threw some change on the floor of the backseat for good luck. Later on I collected the change and put it all in the cup holder so that I could vacuum back there. He passed away in June 2008 and I still have that change in the cup holder, I refuse to spend it. It's like he's with me when I'm driving, keeping me safe.

all of DD's artwork from school.

her tiny, tiny preemie clothes.

other outfits that mean a lot to me.

the cards from our wedding, and my bridal and baby showers.

first mothers day card from DD.

i dont really save that much

i probably have all the cards DH has given me through the years - i think....at least i try to save those...

i have little love notes he wrote me, every once in awhile id find a note in my purse like little surprises so those id save - that's about it...

my mom keeps giving me things from when i was kid that she couldnt throw away - her and my dad are packrats - and i just take it and throw it away i dont like having a lot of "stuff"
