Re: What do you think of this girl's name...
I like the name! You may have to correct people here and there but I feel like that happens with every name. I am forever being called Michelle!
If It really bothers you what about Emilia? If this baby is a we are actually going to use either Olivia or Emilia so I thought I would just suggest it!

It's pretty but people would butcher it.
If you are planning on calling her Emme anyway, why not just name her Emme?

I like it. DS's name gets butchered too: it's easier than your pick. He actually says, at 4, that they call him a different name in school. DD, who can't do an "r" sound well, calls him the cutest nickname! IMO, just be ok with whatever it gets butchered to.
What's really funny is my 1st name is very unusual & everyone thinks my last name is my first! You can't help people!

Re: What do you think of this girl's name...
I love Emme....DH is not on board with Emme or Emmeline Our last name starts with an A and has 4 syllables, very Italian. Emilia is another good one, but it sounds so close to Olivia.
He likes really plain names like Jane. Literally. The other 2 in the running are Ava and Brooke. I like Ava but I am worried there will be too many Ava's in school with her. Brooke is nice but I think everyone in our family will call her "Brookie" since there is no other nickname for Brooke (and DH and I can't stand Brookie).
Does anyone else feel like they are searching for names, and there isn't one that hits them over the head, like it's the one? Olivia was a favorite right away for both of us, and we are not having the same easy experience this time.

Yes! I can totally sympathize! We are so I decided I wanted to have two boy names and two girl names going into delivery. The boys names have always been so difficult for us. We had so many issues with picking DS name that I made a last minute change when he was an hour old. It's funny because I didn't even like DS name when DH first suggested it but now I think it is the most perfect name in the world and suits him so well. I know it seems like you will never decide but it will come eventually and once you connect that name to your DD, you will think it's the best name ever.

Re: What do you think of this girl's name...
I think it's pretty and definitely unique. I looked at it and would pronounce it the way you want it pronounced: "Emmaleen". Just tossing this out there -- I know a girl who named her daughter Emmalena. It's similar and you may not encounter the mispronunciations. Just a suggestion. Either way, i think it's a pretty name and you should go with what you love! GL!
