What do you use for teething when the natural remedies don't work?
My DD is miserable from cutting a tooth (her 6th one) and I want something that will let her get a good nap in without being woken from pain.
My gut is to give ibuprofen (generic motrin) bc I feel this will last the longest and be most effective...just want to see what other moms do.

Motrin. It's not just a pain killer it's an anti inflamatory- so it works SOOO much better for teething.

Same here. So far, Tylenol has done the trick for the bad teething pain.
ETA: I also give her Hyland's tablets. They really seem to help her. But I reserve the tylenol for the real bad days.

Thanks everyone...I gave Motrin bc that's what my ped had said to give too...but I never even thought of Tylenol bc i think of it as more of a fever reducer (and I always take Advil/Motrin when I have a headache/cramps).
Glad to know that Tylenol works for teething too!
