What does everyone think about Adams exemption for sports players and performers?
I’m curious if there is anyone out there who actually thinks this is ok, justifiable or makes logical “science” sense???
IMO regardless of your opinion on vaccines and mandates, it should deeply disturb everyone that Adams has deemed basketball and baseball players more important than fireman, police officers, teachers, doctors etc…and has fired or put on leave thousands of hard working people but the millionaires get an exemption!

Re: What does everyone think about Adams exemption for sports players and performers?
I think it's a kick in the teeth to anyone who has lost their job over the vax mandate and to anyone who was forced to get it and was vaccine injured by it- like my brother in law who is now suffering heart issues his doctors are attributing to his forced vaccine.
I know there are already lawsuits being brought and this will only strengthen their case so in a way it's good.

I think it's utterly ridiculous and it shows how backwards, upside-down and inside out this world has become. Nothing these politicians do makes sense anymore.

Slap in the face to those that were forced to resign because of the mandate. Everything is a joke.

No coincidence Steven Cohen, owner of the Mets, donated to Adams’ campaign

It’s simple, sports players and performers bring in revenue, firefighters and police officers don’t. This guy is disgusting!

This is beyond ridiculous. He only did it for baseball - they've held out so long with Kyrie...
I'm beyond livid that this is ok but city workers, and private sector workers in the city, need to be vaccinated.
An unvaccinated office worker who has their own space, likely 6ft apart from anyone else is not allowed to work while an unvaccinated basketball player who is basically leaning on top of someone can?
If this doesn't show people it's all about money and control - I don't know what will.

OMG that’s ridiculous! The rules make no sense (well they do make sense anything that brings the city money is going to be accommodated).

I'm sorry but that is fukin disgusting I hope the city continues to spiral into the shithole it's become. They deserve it. And now I see why people are resorting to paying a few hundred bucks to shady pharmacists who take the dose, dump it and say they gave it to you, recording the serial number of the dose with the state. Unjust rules are meant to be broken.

Unbelievable. The rest of the country is living like normal and there is NYC, still back in 2020.

It's crazy, I looked it up after you said it and it was actually a few weeks ago but it seems not have gained a lot of media attention locally. Crazy!

I looked it up too and I see a lot of news articles saying it-- they say it's because it's included in extracuricular activies, but I'm not seeing it actualy stated by the Mayor or Chancelor anywhere-- did you see it expressly stated somewhere?

right, but that's an article. I was looking for the actual rule/guideline. It says this, but it's not even a quote from someone: The Department of Education said the city is “excited” school dances are back and “permitted for our vaccinated students, adding the possibility of allowing unvaccinated students to attend prom could be revisited in the future.
