What does "preview day" mean?
Like Macys one-day sale on Saturday has a preview day on Friday. Sorry if this is a dumb question

It means that the sale is on Saturday---but they will also have items out on Friday at the sale prices of Saturday.
It's just a fancy way of saying the sale is 2 days. 
There may not be as much merchandise available on Friday -- but whatever is out that applies to the sale on Saturday -- you can get at those prices.
