what does your 1 year old drink with meals?

Daycare offers milk with breakfast and lunch. Im doing water with meals and bottles of milk in between... but daycare kids his age seem to be off bottles already!! only one or two other kids drink the bottles between meals.

So what do you offer your kids with meals?? (we aren't' doing juice yet).

But I thought I'd replace the two bottles (midday and early evening) to two sippys with milk... but apparently..they give the milk with meals?? (they'll do what I want them to do but just wondering if im thinking wrong)

We will offer water or a yogurt drink, if she isn't already having yogurt for lunch. My DD also like warm chamomile tea so if it's a cold day I will offer that.

Water, that's the only thing she'll drink EVER She is like me I guess and doesn't like milk

I do what you do...water with meals and milk in between, my dd gets 3 bottles a day still-I tried to switch her milk to sippies a couple of times, but she won't drink much so I am keeping her on bottles a little longer.

I think her daycare also gives milk with breakfast and snack and water at lunch but I am not sure.

Milk and water. She's been off the bottle since she's turned 1 so now we just offer the milk and water at mealtimes and only water in between meals. She started drinking more milk now than when she was on the bottle so we cut that out between meals.

it depends on how John goes to sleep.

Luce has milk to go to sleep so he gets water at meals and during the day.

I don't think it has to be one or the other though.

At one my DD had her milk bottles and then bfast, lunch, and dinner about a half hr later. She went off bottles cold turkey at 17 months. I didn't give milk with meals because she wouldn't drink milk from a sippy initially.

Yeah Im having a hard time with the milk in the sippy..just wont take it.. will only drink water from his straw sippy!!

I just can't imagine all of the other babies are off bottles so early and already perfectly drinking their milk with meals and one snack at 3:00. The director made me feel like he should be doing this now!! Im my mind.. it's very early.. and dr. said bottles until 2 were fine.

We do the water with a splash of juice.

Colin is 13 months and I just recently started syncing up sippys of milk with meals instead of on his "bottle" schedule. I stopped bottles recently too - he could care less.

I have to limit his milk intake b/c he gets soy milk, but I do 4oz of soy milk plus a little water 4x/day - after he nurses in the morning and then around meal times. If he doesn't finish his milk with his meal, I just offer it to him while he is playing.

DS refuses to drink milk in sippys. He still gets 3 milk bottles a day and sippy's with water at meal time. He loves his bottle and I don't plan on taking it away just yet. He's still a baby!

They did this to me with Ryan too - made me feel like I was crazy for keeping him on the bottle. I actually didn't get him off the bottle b/c he was still nursing and I wanted to wean him first - one thing at a time. We did weaning from breast at 14 months and off bottle by 15.

Colin is different - I think a little b/c he has an older sibling. He wants to be a big boy and it wasn't hard to just replace bottles with sippys. It took a bit before he would take large amts of milk from the cup, but he got it in the course of a few wks.

I do a sippy of milk in the am before breakfast and a sippy at night.
Water with meals.


But I suspect daycare is giving more milk (and in bottles). I dont know if that is because all the other kids are having bottles of milk at that time.

I need to figure that out.

Milk sippy when he wakes up
breakfast with water at nine
lunch with water at noon
Milk sippy 1/130
Dinner with water 530
Milk Bottle at bedtime

Daycare just merges lunch and the 130 bottle and I'm ok with that. My MIL does too, as long as he gets it, I don't care when or how.

I just do it the way I do b/c we still have down time together, he sits next to me and we either read or watch mickey mouse while he drinks his sippy.

ETA- can't they give him a bottle with milk at lunch? kwim? why does it have to be a sippy right now?

Thanks for your schedule Dev!! Theyll do whatever I want I just feel like I need to start doing it differently..like the way daycare is doing it with the other kids..like im doing something wrong. ya know.
