What dumb things have you done in the name of beauty???

We've all done something...admit it! Whether it's tweezing your brows into non-existance or whatever, admit it here!!!

I'll start. I read somewhere that putting dawn dish detergent on your pimples will clear them up. When I woke up the next morning, I got several red splotches the size of a dime all over my face. I looked like someone splashed acid in my face. It took a week to heal. Never ever put Dawn on your face!

In 10th grade I got a perm (at my father's insistence!) THREE days before the first day of school!

My hair was way past my bra strap at that point, so it took 6 HOURS to do... and I had so much hair they had to put these sticks in my head to line up the curlers! I looked like I had antennae!

Even though I came armed with a picture of beautiful model with BEAUTIFUL hair, I came out of there looking like HOMIE THE CLOWN!

It was so awful, I cried and cried for days... and my father had the nerve to get mad at me for being upset! He blamed ME for wanting it!

That perm lasted all through 10th grade, 11th, 12th... and freshman year of college! It was the perm that wouldn't die! And now, 13 years later, my hair has changed and is STILL curly, whereas before it was straight or wavy at best!

ETA: after about 6 months, the curls relaxed and it actually looked NICE. But 6 months of 10th grade 15-year-old hell was NOT worth it!!

When I was in 7th grade..Perms were in! I wanted a "spiral" perm, however, just told my hairdresser "a perm".
When done, I looked like "Orphan Annie"!
I didnt want to go back to school.
Everyone gave me the advice of "You can just wash it out" but I didnt have the heart to after mom just layed out all this $$ for me to get my "Stylish Perm"!
I let it grow out, and made sure when I wanted a perm again, I said "Spiral" and showed pics!
