What foods contain calcium in place of milk? NEED HELP
Hi Mommies, As i posted earlier my DD 16 months decided she doesn't like milk anymore when i tried to transition her to a sippy cup. She refused any milk in a bottle or sippy now - im so upset because she went from drinking sometimes 4 bottles to nothing now at all. Ive tried spoon feeding it to her or having her sip it with a straw and nothing so now i have to deal with it and my peditrician and some mommies on here said its sometimes happens.
Well - my peditrican said to give her 2 yogurts a day to supplement but what else can i Give her except yogurt and cheese (which she doesn't like) that contains calcium? Im at a lose right now - would welcome any suggestions.
Thanks so much

I just went to Google and typed in "foods containing calcium" and there are a whole bunch of sites.
Here is a link to one that lists foods in order of calcium content.
Calcium Rich foods

You can also give her organe juice that is fortified with calcium. She also may go back to drinking milk if you just keep giving it to her. Or try to flavor the milk with either chocolate or strawberry.

Thanks so much ladies for the adive and website!
Ill going to take a long look into it and have to change her diet to make sure she is getting everything she needs.
Also - ive tried giving her chocolate milk and no luck - im absolutely going to continue to offer it to her. Thanks again.

Dark green leaf veggies.
You don't have to drink milk to get calcium in your intake. It's not "natural" to drink milk from other species. There are plenty of veggies with calcium in nature to cover our calcium need.

Re: What foods contain calcium in place of milk? NEED HELP
I know this may sound strange, but over the weekend I bought a box of Annie's Organic Bunny Grahams at Costco. I thought they would make quick easy snacks to throw in my diaper bag for DS.
I was just eating one myself and noticed it says "excellent source of calcium" on the bag. This little bag of graham snacks have 20% calcium in them... the same amount as milk.
So if DD gets any type of crackers or snacks during the day you could probably give her something like this as well to supplement the other healthier things like green veggies, cheese, oatmeal, etc.

Did you try warming the milk for her? Try that. Also, maybe try a flavored milk--vanilla by Horizons. Trying warming first.
Otherwise, cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese.
