What fuel do you use to heat your house on LI?
What fuel do you use to heat your house in Nassau or Suffolk?
ETA: we have gas in Suffolk, but when we moved in, there was an abandoned oil tank in the basement, and we have an oil burner that was converted to gas, so we obviously had oil at some point in the house, but before I owned the house.

suffolk - gas. Im in Setauket, and I think all the houses in my proximity have gas.

Nassau, we use gas to fuel our heat, hot water and stove.
It was oil until this past summer and we converted.

Suffolk - Gas...we converted to gas about 4.5 years ago and it was the best thing we did for our house...

I so want to get solar panels. If they weren't so expensive I would do it in a heartbeat. We are considering it for the near future, though.

Yeah. The ultimate goal would to be off the grid, but the amount of panels needed for that would probably cover our entire roof and a good part of the backyard!!
It would be great for heat and hot water. I think we're going to get an estimate in the spring.
