What is the antibiotic stronger than Amoxicillin for ear infections? CEFZIL
Thomas has been on Amoxicillin since Tuesday night for an ear infection (with fever). He still has fever today. Doctor is changing medicine to a stronger antibiotic. She mentioned the name, but I can't remember. She said it's the next step up for children from Amox.
Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Anyone's DC prescribed it? Any reactions? Stomach upset? etc.?

ETA: It's Cefzil... Anybody's DC prescribed this?

is it Augmentin? This is what DS had for an ear infection that was really stubborn last Fall.
It upset his stomach at first, but then we gave him Yo-baby every day, and that seemed to help.
BTW- the Augmentin did clear up his ear infection!

It upset his stomach at first, but then we gave him Yo-baby every day, and that seemed to help.
BTW- the Augmentin did clear up his ear infection!

That is what DS is on now. He has a very bad cold, husky cough and the ped did not want to get worse so on Mon he put Michael on Cefzil.

Nothing at all. It actually worked faster than any other antiboditic that DS has ever be on.
