what is the average price that you would be willing to pay for a birthday party
We have always done parties at home, so I am not sure how much I spend, but I assume ALOT. Its always family and friends and kids and such. So with entertainment and food and drinks, I think its more than I would spend to have a party out.
So if you were to have a party out (bounce place, etc) what would you be willing to spend? What is reasonable to you? Thanks!

We had DS's birthday party at Pump It Up when he was 3. When all was said and done it was probably $600+. We bought pizza for adults and there were extra kids that they charge you for.
I happen to go over board with birthday parties for my kids. But I dont think it's necessary at all.

I was thinking that it probably would cost between 600-700...but I honestly think that we spend more than that at home.

i'm having DD 1st birthday party at a playhouse (like a Gymboree type of thing). Having it for 2 1/2 hours and catering food for the adult and favors for the kids cost me approximately around $700-$800 dollars.

Re: what is the average price that you would be willing to pay for a birthday party
When we've had the party out it usually costs us around $500 for approx 15 kids. I make all the favors and supply food for the adults.
I was looking into prices for doing it myself and having it outsomewhere. and we would save soooo much money having it out somewhere since when we are home i tend to go overboard.

Re: what is the average price that you would be willing to pay for a birthday party
We're having her first bday at my BIL's house but I know it's going to cost us A LOT, between renting tables, chairs, tents, entertainment, food, favors, cake, drinks, decorations, etc for about 75 people. We're doing this ONLY for her first bday (and maybe her sweet 16! lol). Every party after this will be a small affair.
To answer your question though...I think her first bday party is going to cost us around $1200-1500 and I'm actually ok with that since it's just this once.

My daughter's 1st bday cost about 2k. Never again until the big sweet 16. Now it's just cupcakes at nursery school and cake & coffee w/ family. Next year I might do something small crafts party for her cousins and z few Nursery friends.

Re: what is the average price that you would be willing to pay for a birthday party
If I can average out to $500 a year over his first 18 years, I'll be happy.
I imagine there will come a time as he gets older than he will think birthday parties are lame.
when he'll be "over" having bouncy houses, clowns, ponies, carousels, and pin the star in the sky games.
when piñata's will be more for target practice than for the candy.
so, I will spend the money in these next few years...and scale way back when he grows tired of it.

thats how i feel about it for now. i spend on the parties and get away without spending a small fortune on gifts.
when they are older and want more $ gifts I will have smaller parties (family only) so i figure it will all balance out.

Re: what is the average price that you would be willing to pay for a birthday party
My dd's 1st @ home was about $500, 2nd was at Tree Top & about $700, 3rd was a few friends over to play maybe $100. I made her cake, goodie bags, cupcakes etc.
Fro my sons 1st we've only booked the restaurant and it will be over $1800 for that alone. All in all hoping to keep it under $2500! It's my last baby & I love a good party!
