What is the best money you EVER spent?
You know that feeling of, "Oh god..should i REALLY buy this?"
What is something you were unsure about but now are SO glad you did?

This past mother's day -- DH and I bought my mom her first bicycle.
She told us how growing up she never could afford a bike and always had to borrow someone else's bike. It was just a luxury that my grandmother couldn't afford and my mom said she always wanted a simple bike that she could call her own.
A few weeks before mother's day she mentioned the bike thing again, and I decided to get it for her.
ETA: The reason I was unsure was I mentioned the bike to my dad and brother and they said it was a dumb idea. They didn't think she would care for it, and made comments how maybe she's "too old" for a bike.  The almost made me not buy it cause they thought it was a silly thing to get for her.
The reaction when she saw it - speaks for itself:

Airline tickets to see family (not necessarily vacation type of trips, time with family is so much more valuable to me).

Last year I paid for my parents to come with me to Italy. My cousin was getting married and my parents couldn't afford the trip. I really wanted to go but instead of traveling alone I paid for them to come with me.
My mom complained about it for months leading up to it, saying I was being wasteful. My dad kept saying they could save up and go in a few years instead.
But, we went and had an AMAZING time!!! My mom ended up staying an entire month! And now that my mom is having some major knee problems, it could have been the last time she could go and REALLY enjoy herself (my family lives on a volcano so there is a lot of hiking, walking, climbing involved!) AND now I am pregnant so if I hadn't gone, it would have been years before I went back!

I spent almost $6000 on braces in my mid 20's and suffered for 3 years through treatment. it was the best money i ever spent getting my teeth fixed.
