What is the going rate for a babysitter in LI?
We are trying to decide whether we should hire a nanny/ housekeeper to watch our baby or if we should look for daycare in Queens.
Also, how much would you pay soemone to watch the baby on a Saturday night? We have 4 weddings to attend (Yikes!)

We are paying $15 per hour for a very reliable, older, experienced babysitter that we've known for years.
I actually asked a few people on this board last week this very question, I got ranges from 12-15 an hour. Keep in mind, I have two children (7 months and 2 1/2 years old).

I'm finding $10/hr is pretty typical for a weekend babysitting job by a college age girl.
