what is the pound range for size 12 month clothing?

carters pants say size 9 month clothing is 16.5 - 20.5lbs....and im like bc it feels like these clothes were just purchased for her to wear and she has gotten use out of them but shes now about 19lbs and so im thinking not to shortly we'll be dipping into the 12 month clothes already???!!!!!! shes freakin 5 months for gods sake....moms of big babies tell me that this makes sense???

Sizes just make me want to Every brand is different. Carters I feel is a little more "true to size" but lately I am questioning that. Athan is about 25 pounds at 10 1/2 months and he is already into 18-24 month clothing. It is so frustrating. Now, I automatically buy double his age to be on the safe side. He has so many clothes that he hasn't even worn once.

carters clothing runs differently - there 12 month tag clothing is for 9-12 months, 18 month taged clothing is for 12-18 months. Hope I am not confusing you with this.

My DD was big like yours but around 6/7 months she finally started slowing down. She wore 12 month clothes from about 7 months old until 10/11 months.

Her growth will slow down soon!

carters runs true to size for DS for the most part - in some of the one piece outfits, the legs are too short, but the onesies all still fit him.

they are having a really big sale at carter's though - why don't you check them out, buy a piece or two and see how it fits her?

ETA: i always find that DS has more room to grow OUT of his clothes rather than UP - like if he gained weight but not inches he would be fine, but once he grows lengthwise, he needs the next size up very quickly. he's kind of a skinny baby though.

My kids are tall for their age. I find Carter's sizes runs small. My son is 4 mo. old and wearing size 9mo.- 12 mo. in Carter's pajama's. My 2 years old is wearing 4T in Carter's pajama's. From my expierence, I find other stores, like Gap, runs more true to size. Like the pp said, I always have to check the weight & height on various brands of clothes, rather than relying on the month size. I think Carter's may be true to size for some kids just not all kids.

I'm not sure of the pound range but DS is 9 mos old and 20 lbs and is just about to grow out of his 6-12 month clothes.

Gap seems to be a little smaller, carter's seems true to size.

It's so frustrating!!! I would hate to buy new sizes just for the 1-2 months left in the winter!

DD had been wearing 12 months since she was 9 months old and is still wearing them at 1 year. She is 24lbs and 31 inches long. I tried 18m but they are way to big on her.

definitely go by the online size charts for the brand... and go by both weight and length...

DS is tall and skinny.... (at 3 months he was 27" and 16 lbs)... he was barely still fitting into the 9 mo carter footie pjs.... they were getting too short. Meanwhile, there was still plenty of room in the waist area.

I'm about to retire the 9 mo clothes. I think they'll be packed up when he's 4 mo old. they're all getting short '

Meanwhile, the new children's place 12 mo pants are still a bit long on him but the carter's 12 mo fit perfectly.

Makes me nuts- so much for all the 12 months summer stuff I bought Sydnie at the end of last season's sales. She'll be in 12 months probably in March at 7 months
