What is your dental/vision coverage situation?
Am I the only one without either?
At my first job, I had medical/dental. At my second, I had medical only. Both of these were Catholic schools, BTW. I've never had vision and I wear glasses/contacts too...
Now, I'm at home, so we have my DH's benefits, but again...only medical.
Last week I spent $200 for a cleaning at the dentist and today, close to $1K for a filling/crown replacement!

There are dental plans out there you can purchase that will give you discount rates at certain dentists.
I got one for my brother that costs $130 a year. Google individual dental plans or discount dental plans.

Re: What is your dental/vision coverage situation?
I'm sorry to hear that you had to spend all that at the dentist.
For us, I carry everything... medical, dental and vision through my company.
For dental, we get 2 cleanings per year and don't pay anything for it. For fillings or other basic services I will have to pay 20% and for major services I pay 50%.
Not sure what I get with vision since I haven't had to use it yet. I'll have to check.

Re: What is your dental/vision coverage situation?
All my coverage is through Aetna.
I don't wear glasses so I don't know anything about the details of the coverage. I do know my co-workers are big on going to Costco and using FSA for contacts and new glasses.
My dental coverage is standard, 2 cleanings a year with 1 full set of xrays.

Re: What is your dental/vision coverage situation?
I chose not to take the vision plan offered because it came out to approx $400/year out of my check. I get glasses once every 2 years and the exam is $50, glasses are no more than $150 (Costco).
My dental plan is free, so of course, I took it. Cleanings are covered 2x a year, and I believe there's varying 80% and 50% coverages based on the procedure needed. Nothing too fantastic, but still better than nothing.

Re: What is your dental/vision coverage situation?
We also have full coverage. Dental is 2 cleanings a year, 80% of medically necessary work and 50% for the rest. Vision is one regular eye exam a year and a contact exam every two years. They pay $200 towards the frames/lenses and we pay the rest (if they go over, which they sometimes do since fh is a designer glasses snob).
