I'm not sure I have a favorite but I tend not to like colonials unless they are huge. I have a splanch and it's much more open, which I like. I don't like the narrow staircases in the smaller colonials. That said, I recently considered moving to one. It depends on other features. My eyes are still open for a house that has laundry on one of the main levels.

What is your favorite style house?
I love the exterior of tudors. We almost bought a Tudor but then went with an extended two story ranch. I didn't have a preference when looking, with so many remodels, I think a lot depends on the specific house these days.

Colonial and I live in a colonial.
I like all of the entertainment space and a separate guest bathroom on the first floor.
My dad became partially disabled 16 years ago, for that reason I wasn't even looking at high ranches, splanches, or splits.
I'm not a fan of ranches as I like the bedrooms to be on an entirely different floor.
I've lived in all of the above styles and just prefer a colonial.

I like the appearance of Victorians and colonials the best. I grew up in a colonial, and moved to a cape when I was older.
I'm not really sure what I would call the house DH and I live in now...it's a bit of a hybrid of a few different styles. Eventually, we will move to a larger place. I'm interested in checking out all different styles, but I'm particularly drawn to sprawling ranches. I'd like to make our next home our "forever home," and I feel that a ranch is reasonable for old age.

Splits which is what we have- the kind where the living room dining room and kitchen are all on one floor
Always loved colonials but the thought of all those steps in one flight is daunting to me now

My favorite would be a colonial. We have a split now and I dislike it more every year  I want to move but there are hardly any colonials (for sale) in this little town.

I love Cape Cod style homes, with the cedar shake siding and all...My brother lives on the Cape and it is so beautiful there!
We live in a ranch and really like it. We could use some more space, and it would probably make the most sense to move to a center hall colonial, but we would prefer a bigger ranch, but not one that has been built onto a bunch of times, one that was designed with a larger footprint.

I love the traditional center hall colonial and that is what we have. Especially with kids, I like that all the bedrooms are together on the second floor and that the first floor and basement can be an entirely separate play/entertainment area. I also love the traditional layout when you walk into the center hallway and have your living room and dining room separate and the open staircase leading up.

#1 by far is Craftsman. Sadly, there are barely any on LI. A distant second are colonials. I've also seen some gorgeous mission style houses that I'd love to live in.

We have a dormered cape and opened up layout downstairs. I love it. When we were looking, I wanted ranch or cape style. I love the simple character of a cape from the outside. We also kept one bdrm downstairs and use it as my office
Colonials are nice. But unless it's updated, there are too many small rooms and no room for sep office on main floor. And doing all that is $$$$
So my choices in order
Cape
Ranch
Colonial
Split

Right now we are in a split which I like but I don't love. We put a bid in on a detached tudor and I LOVE this house. I am so hoping we get it.

What is your favorite style house?
I love old houses with unique/quirky features- my house is a center hall colonial build in the early 1930's. Victorians and tutor style homes also ranked high on my list while we were house hunting.

Probably a colonial but only if it has storage. I love homes with character but I need places to put my shoes!
That said, we'll probably wind up buying a split or hi ranch.

I love love craftsmans. There is a neighborhood near where I live that is mostly craftsman and Victorian. Sooo want to live there
