What kind of clothes should I pack for Puerto Rico?
Especially for dinners/nights out? Do people get very dressed up there?
Another problem I have on tropical vacations is ending up freezing in air-conditioned restaurants. Lol. Anyone have any feedback on whether they freeze out the restaurants there? I'm trying to think layers, layers, layers!
Also interested in restaurant recommendations. Thanks!!!

both sound perfect :)
the el san juan is actually in isla verde, not san juan..there's a bunch of dining options on the strip you'll be on, along with a bunch of different bars (everywhere from sports bars to classy ones), but you'll need to take a cab or the bus to san juan

I stayed at the same hotel last time I went and I remember they had at least 3 restaurants there. A steakhouse (very good), an Italian restaurant (that was sort of, eh) and a more casual bar/restaurant that was on one of the top floors of the hotel and all open - beautiful views of the beach and the surrounding area.
You're also going to have lots of nice hotels very close by w/lots of restaurants as well (I remember Ruths Chris)
There was also a Cuban restaurant pretty much right across the street from the hotel that was amazing (can't remember the name of it though).
We also went to the Dragonfly in Old San Juan for sushi/fusion. The food and drinks were to die for and the ambiance was great (dark w/red lighting).
So many good options . . .
