Re: What kind of SUV should I get?
Personally, I would probably get the Trailblazer. I love Chevy trucks.
However, my stepfather just purchased the Pacifica last month and loves it!

Re: What kind of SUV should I get?
DH has the 2006 Ford Escape, which is smaller than the Explorer, but still really nice and our little guy fits in there perfectly. If you like your Ford, I'd say stick with a brand you know and trust.

what about the new ford freestlye? that will probubly me next car, i love my explorer but the freestyle is the same but lower to the ground good for loasding babies and strollers.... it reminds me of the pacifica
that's the car i have!! i love it! it's not as high as a an suv and rides like a car! (called a crossover) the only downside is it's an AWD vehicle and eats up gas like crazy. I used to be able to look over my shoulder in my other car and for some reason in this car i can't. i test drove the pacifica at night and i really didn't care for it, there were a lot more blindspots, but then again it was at night. if i were to get a new car when this is up, i would probably get a new jeep, supposedly they shift down to 4 cylinders on highways and are 6 on local rodes as per my boss.

i remember hearing about a recall on this car,
Safety regulators at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) report that Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. is recalling 125,466 of its Murano sport-utility vehicles because of a wiring problem that could potentially cause engine failure and result in a crash.
NHTSA says the problem is a result of a wire inside the vehicles' alternators that may break causing the battery to stop charging and the engine to stop running.
Murano SUVS from the 2003 through 2005 model years are affected by the recall.
Dealers will inspect and replace the alternator with a new version which has been modified. The recall is expected to begin August 3, 2005. Owners should contact Nissan at (800) 647-7261.

Re: What kind of SUV should I get?
I'm happy with my Trailblazer EXT with the 3rd row although if I could I would trade it in for minivan because once we have another baby getting to the 3rd row will be a PITA if 2 car seats are installed.

I have a new GMC Envoy, we got it becuase baby #2 is expected any day now!
I will say though that GM is going tro be doing away with the Envoy XL, the one with the 3rd row seating. Not sure what will be arriving in its place. DH is a GMC dealer, FM me if you want more info.

Re: What kind of SUV should I get?
I have the pacifica, (have driven for the past almost 3 years) and I HATE it, i personally think it is so dangerous, hard to see out of the back window and many blind spots, I can't wait to get rid of it in January when my lease it up. We have ALL the gadgets inside, navigation system, DVD package, leather seats, etc, and I still hate it!! We are looking at the Tahoe, the Expedition, or the Land Rover.

Re: What kind of SUV should I get?
As much as I love the Jeep Cherokee, I consider it to be on the small side when it comes to the back seat. It can accomodate 2 children's seats, but it's really tight when it comes to adults.
The Cherokee is my DH's commuter car, otherwise we use the Excursion as the "family" vehicle.

Re: What kind of SUV should I get?
There is no room in the back of the murano for a third row seat.
The Hyundai sante fe for 2006 has a third row seating option. I think they extended the size of the truck
The GMC envoy is a great truck. Both my sister and my sister in law lease them. My sister has a deep cranberry one with leather....and my sister in law has the smoke silver with leather. This is her second one. She had a 2000 before. Great truck, very comfortable, and great acceleration. The third row comes in handy too Scott

We have an 06 Tahoe and I LOVE it. It rides so well and drives so well! Easy for me to transition to driving something so big.
Payments are $560 I think....we got the car at $1,000 UNDER dealer invoice PLUS 0% financing!
