Re: What makes a daycare good? Your opinions please!
I absolutely love my daycare place. Everyone there from the director to the teachers are soooo amazingly nice, loving, etc. I know that all of the children that go there are so loved. They truly care about all of the children- and it really is heartwarming to see.
It is also extremely clean. Its brand-new (only opened in September)- so EVERYTHING is new. The staff also takes alot of pride in their facility, so that helps too.
They are very big on the parents being involved- so every morning, we write out a sheet stating when the child woke up, how did they sleep, when did they eat, how much did they eat, when was the last diaper change, and what kind of mood are they in. At the end of the day, the teachers give each of the parents a list of when they ate, what they ate, how much, when all the diaper changes were, what was in the diaper (hee hee), and when and how long they napped for.
Safety is also a really big thing for me. Some of the daycares that I went to did not have locked doors, so just about anyone off the street could walk in- and that did not sit right with me. At this place, you must be buzzed in, or you must enter your code in the door- everyone has a code just for them, so that makes me feel better too.
DD is doing so well there. She can do so many things there- and a huge smile lights up her face when she sees any of the staff members!
