What 'old school' things....

what i mean is...things like, itsy bitsy spider, i'm a little teapot...etc. When i picked Em up last week, Nicole (our sitter) was doing itsy bitsy spider with her and it was like, WOW, i used to do that when i was a kid....and it hit me that maybe i'm forgetting stuff like that to do with Em...
so - what do or did you do???

Re: What 'old school' things....
I wouldn't say those songs are really "old school" To me they're timeless.
I also do: itsy bitsy spider wheels on the bus that ridiculous song we sang in camp... "I said a boom chick-a-boom" The Littlest worm
I put on the XM 80's station on our direct TV to play in the background when we get home from work/daycare and he was dancing to "where the kids in America"
My parents read me "The Fish Out of Water" so read that to Mason or all the Madeline books I loved

Re: What 'old school' things....
My kids watch the same movies/cartoons I loved as a kid..
They love Lady and the Tramp, Peter Pan, Jungle Book, Follow that Bird... and love watching Peanuts movies (Race for your Life Charlie Brown, Its the Easter Beagle Charlie Brown, etc) and old school Disney cartoons (Donald Duck/Chip and Dale, etc.. they have shorts of them on Playhouse Disney and they both CRACK UP when watching).
Of course they love new stuff too but I think its great they watch some real quaility and entertaining shows like I did. And I love watching with them as I am so over Thomas the Train.

Re: What 'old school' things....
Itsy Bitsy Spider Wheels on the Bus Beatles songs.. hahaha Ring around the rosie This little piggie ... haha our favorite Saturday morning cartoons of Tom & Jerry, with a glass of milk.
TOYS - I like the old school toys, the phone, the moving scene radio that played "Lets go fly a kite" as the image moved, that stupidly annoying popper, playing train with her.
I dont know if its timeless or just a thing but we play 'steam roller' where I hold her in my arms and 'roll over' her on the floor. She thinks its hillarious.
ETA: Dr. Suess books and Golden Books. haha
We have sleeping beauty but she's not into it yet.

Re: What 'old school' things....
Here's one... super old school and very Boston-area. I've never heard of anyone not from New England who knows this....
Put the child on your lap while singing the song and when you get to the last line you open your knees and let them "fall in."
It goes,
Trot trot to Boston, Trot trot to Lynn, Look out little <child's name> That you don't FALL IN!
Hysterical giggles every time, even if it's the 37490584960783 time.

My MIL does a version of this thing to my kids, it goes "round ball, round ball, pull the baby's hair, chip, chop, chip, chop...tickle under there"

Re: What 'old school' things....
I just began doing spiderman with miki (I used to do this with my sister all the time)
I lay on my back and have miki stand in front of me, she holds my hands and then I press the bottom of my feet against her belly and pull (actually push with my foot) her up to a flying position
she loves it
