what questions do I ask at a daycrare tour

Moms who have children in daycare , please give me some ideas, I am going to look at one of the daycare centers, what questios do I ask? I don't want to miss anything.

Off the top of my head-

Are they certified to give medication?

What is the turnover rate of the staff?

What food do they serve?

What happens if you pick dd up late or drop off early?

Where do dc's sleep for nap time?

What do they do all day?

How many kids to each adult?

What days/holidays are they closed?

What is the vacation policy (if you take one).

How often the toys are cleaned?
What kind of discipline do they use?
Will they address and help with potty training?
What is your stance on biting within classrooms
Are your teachers CPR trained
Is there a daily report filled out for each child so that I know what they have done and eaten

Check out childcaresuffolk.org. On the left side of the main page, there's a link to "things to look for". You can also, BTW, check out histories of inspections for suffolk county daycare providers. I don't know if there's something similar for other counties.
