What should I tell the old ped??

I still havent called Megans old ped to tell them we wouldnt be returning.

What should I say? Just that we wont be back and I need her records? Should I give a reason? What if they ask me why?? This is making me nervous and I am not even sure why?

I'm switching Ped's right now and I feel the same way. It is soooo awkward! I don't know what to say either.

I would give a reason. Is it a practice with a lot of drs? If yes, I would definitely call about your issues.

I am still with my original practice, but I have turned my dr in twice to the practice supervisior.

I am now with a new dr and LNP that I am okay with, so I stuck it out.

I was walking 2 weeks ago and ran into a doctor who I had seen once there...we walked together for a few miles, I vented away. She said that the dr was spoken to and I was not the first to have these issues with him.

I never said anything...I just had the new pediatrician send an authorization for their records and left it at that...We were with them for almost 14 years and the one doctor had been in the delivery room when my daughter was born so we had quite a history. BUT I just didnt feel like getting into it. We had moved and it just wasnt convenient any more...

When I left my first Ped I absolutely told them why.....after I got Baby G's records

thats you are switching peds what will they say ... They cant say a thing its your decision!

I would just say you are switching docs and would like her records. If they ask why and you aren't so comfortable with it, just tell them that they have more convenient office hours and more doctors.

I said we were moving...however if the new ped is in the same area I guess they would figure it out...but at that point who cares!

Are you friendly with the old ped?

If the front desk handles it he might not even notice!

A request from you for your records has to be on file no matter what so if you feel uncomfortable talking to them just send a letter requesting the records...put your new drs address

I let DH handle it! He called to find out why they hadn't sent her records to the new pediatrician (we had submitted a form) they said they never received (a lie i'm sure) so told them he wanted her records sent to the new ped that day-they told him to fax over a letter and asked him why we were switching and he flat out told them.
