What size nipple do you use with cereal in the bottle?

We are using Dr. Brown's bottles, and I tried Level 3, and then the 'Y' nipple...What nipple do you use with cereal? It is way too thick for the Level 2 we had been using.

I found the Y one to be too big, I used level 3.

y nipples are also for avent? how old is dc? mine is 8 w...and i want to use it so he can sleep thru the nite....

I use a level 2... But I keep the bottle completely horizontal. I notice that if you tilt the bottle up on an angle all the cereal goes to the nipple and blocks it. Level 3 was too fast for DS. So for now Level 2 is working good and soon I will try level 3.

The Y nipples work the best

Y-cut nipples for Dr. Browns are perfect for thicker liquids. Just make sure you read the label because they make them for the wide neck and standard size bottles - it took me a few tries to figure that out

DS is 8 weeks today, but VERY large (already in 9 months clothes). My own ped. didn't suggest cereal, but my cousin is a ped. and met DS and suggested it, since he is physically and develpmentally at the 3 or 4 month stage (can hold neck up for 30 seconds unassisted, etc.). She said most peds. won't recommend it in case of choking or the stomach not being large enough to handle it.

We tried last night with the 'Y' nipple, and DS loved it and gulped down 8 ounces before bed! He didn't spit up much at all, and seemed much more content than formula alone! His last feeding was at 9 and he slept til 5, which was great.

We're supposed to put cereal in the bottles? DS is going to be 3 mos Friday and the Ped didn't mention cereal yet.

DS was on 6/26 just 2 days younger than yours! and i thought my baby was big..he was born 7.10 and is now at least 11...still fits in 3 mo. though...at the 1 mo. check up doc said he was "above average" ahahah...which is PC for fat HAHAH...anyway..hows ur sons sleep?? mine is like every 2-3 hours he's up at nite.. he sleep alot longer on his stomach (when he naps) he can move his head side to side..and can hold his head up...for like 10 sec...
