Re: What the hell is wrong with people
The most recent article posted is how the family is turning to the internet for help:
ORLANDO -- Every night is a long night for the family of a missing 3-year-old Florida girl. Caylee Anthony has been missing for more than a month, and now, her family is turning to the Internet for help.
They have put together a MySpace page and a video, hoping someone out there will see it, and help bring Caylee home.
"We are going to get Caylee back. Our efforts now are focused on how can we do that as quickly and effectively as possible," said Lee Anthony, Caylee's uncle.
Caylee's mother Casey Anthony is behind bars, charged with child neglect and criminal obstruction.
Deputies say she told detectives she dropped Caylee off at a babysitter last month, but hadn't seen her since.
They still don't know why she didn't report her missing.
The mother's attorney says her imprisonment is hurting the search.
"I think her detention is hampering the search. How can the police bounce evidence and leads with her while she's sitting in jail? It's counterproductive," said Jose Baez, Casey Anthony's attorney.
Friday, investigators dug up Caylee's grandparents' yard looking for clues.
Caylee and her mother live there.
Investigators used cadaver dogs, but say they believe Caylee could still be alive.
A neighbor said Caylee's mother borrowed a shovel about a month ago.
Police took the shovel as evidence.
"I'm dying inside, every day, every minute, every second not having Caylee in my life. And I know these guys are too, and I know Casey is as well," said Cindy Anthony, Caylee's grandmother.

Re: What the hell is wrong with people
I saw the grandparents again on the Today show this morning.....
Something DOES NOT add up.
The grandmother is not allowed to speak to her daughter, although supposedly the daughter will only speak to her.
I think the grandparents know something or someone knows something and I can't for the life of me figure out what's wrong with this whole thing.
Very VERY odd......

ok this is just
um, since when are the police not allowed to go interview someone in jail?
oh wait - THEY ARE ALLOWED.
if this prevents her from destroying important evidence (because i really think she had a LOT to do with this little girl's disappearance) then i am all for her being locked up at least until they find out what happened.

And what about the mothers lawyer.
He said he knows more but can not elaborate.
Has anyone heard anything about the little girls father? Is he in the picture at all? I

Has anything been mentioned about the father of the litte girl? Just curious if he's in the picture and what his deal is.
The girl's father died last year in a fatal car accident from what the news said. Nothing is adding up now - the lawyer wants her out of jail and now the grandmother is saying her daughter knows where the little girl is and she was arrested too soon. Why not just come out and say it in jail. I think the whole family has something to do with it just by the way everyone is acting. They found her car but the police arent saying what they found but there was a report of a smell.

Thank you for the answer. I didn't hear anything about him.
This story is so strange...after seeing the grandparents and the lawyer on The TODAY show this morning, they are making it sound like she has the girl in hiding. I don't know what to make of it.
I just the little girl is OK.

The grandmother thinks the mother knows where the little girl is. This mornings news made it sound like the girl is out of state.
The story just gets weirder and weirder. The family set up a Myspace account for the little girl too hoping it will reach someone who has seen the girl

Re: What the hell is wrong with people
Here is an update to this story. The family is trying to raise $500,000 bond to free her and her family was not too pleased with testimony of law enforcement at her hearing today.
ETA: This is the first time anyone has seen her cry since Caylee was missing.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1)Judge Stan Strickland set bond at $500,000 plus he ordered her to have a GPS devise attached.
"I don't think I can please anyone," the judge said.
Casey is crying as deputies escort her out of the courtroom.
The prosecutor is asking to hold her on a bond that is high enough that it would ensure her appearance before the court. Cops would prefer her to remain in jail on no bond. The state is requesting more than $500,000 and to restrict her ability from "galavanting about the community" and remain on some type of confinement. Baez: He is requesting $10,000 so the family can afford the bond.
2)Baez says she is entitled to a bond
Baez -- He says the judge needs to look at the law. The laws says she is entitled to a bond. She has no criminal history and it's the state's burden to prove she would not show up for court or that she has physically harmed her child. There is circumstantial evidence that a homicide may have occurred. But cops don't feel confident enough to charge her...They should not try to use the court as punishment and figure maybe she'll crack under the pressure. The court needs to look at the crimes she is charged with and allow her to have a bond. She could hold the key to finding her daughter.
It seems the opposite is true. It's saying if she lets me out Both the state and defense are done with witnesses. The legal arguments are beginning.
3) But no body has been found yet -- Baez points out.
On July 17, Garus was used to search Casey's car for the smell of human remains. He alerted to the vehicle -- he jumped into the trunk.
The dog alerted to the odor of human decomposition in the trunk.

Re: What the hell is wrong with people
On NG they just said they also found hair believe to be Caylee's in the trunk of the car, dirt, and a stain along with the deomposition smell. I feel sorry for the grandmother, you can tell she *wants* to believe her daughter and that someone else has her, but I no longer thing that's the reality

I just saw on my local Fox News that they believe she may have been murdered, as they smelt a decomposing smell in the car

Re: What the hell is wrong with people
They think she may be in Atlanta
From Myfoxtampabay.com
Report: Missing Orlando toddler may be in Atlanta
ORLANDO - The lawyer for Casey Anthony, mother of missing toddler Caylee Anthony, said on a Fox News show late Tuesday they had received a credible tip that a small child matching the description of Caylee was seen at Orlando International Airport boarding a flight to Atlanta.
According to attorney Jose Baez the tip was more credible because he said the little girl pronounced her name the same way that the grandparents did. Cindy Anthony, grandmother to the child, confirmed the tip did indeed surface late Tuesday. According to Anthony, the tip was from a woman who lives in Orlando, and Anthony heard the tip when she checked her voicemail. Anthony called the woman back and they talked. The caller claimed to have seen Caylee board the flight with an older woman. When she talked to the woman and child, the youngster apparently said her name was Caylee 'Antony,' without the "h" the way Anthony says Caylee does. Also, when asked her age, the little girl said three. Caylee is almost three. Cindy Anthony said she is very excited because this woman seems very credible.
Earlier in the day, prosecutors said that the case of the missing 2-year-old was beginning to look like a homicide, and her mother was a person of interest, though she has not been charged. Casey Anthony does face charges connected with lying to investigators, and Circuit Court Judge Stan Strickland set her bond at $500,000 Tuesday, saying the law did not allow him to hold the 22-year-old without bail. He said he set the amount extraordinarily high because he was worried about evidence of human decomposition allegedly found in Anthony's yard and car. Her daughter, Caylee Marie Anthony, has been missing since mid-June. "Not a bit of useful information has been provided by Ms. Anthony as to the whereabouts of her daughter," Strickland said in ordering the bail. "And I would add that the truth and Ms. Anthony are strangers." Anthony is charged only with child neglect, making false official statements and obstructing a criminal investigation. Authorities say she did not report the girl missing until last week. Sheriff's deputies said her car smelled of decomposition, and a cadaver-trained German Shepherd noted a smell of human remains in the car and her yard. They said they found a stain, dirt and what seemed to be piece of Caylee's hair in Anthony's trunk. "The risk of her flight if she is released on some low bond increases exponentially, especially now that she's heard this additional evidence and that she is their person of interest," said assistant state attorney Linda Drane-Burdick. Defense attorney Jose Baez requested bond around $10,000. He said Anthony's family can't pay a high bond and she has the right be free while facing only low-level charges. "This is not a capital case, and if it were they certainly would file it, if they had evidence to," Baez said. "There is circumstantial evidence of a possible homicide, I will give them that. But circumstantial evidence has not made them confident enough to charge her with any specific homicide or kidnapping, or any capital offense." Anthony's parents became concerned after her car was towed from a check-cashing business where it had been parked for days. She and the child lived with her parents, and she told them she worked as an event planner at an area theme park. Investigators say Anthony was unemployed, and the woman she claimed was a baby sitter for her daughter seems never to have existed. The two hadn't been home in about a month before investigators were notified that Caylee was missing.
