What time is too early to trick or treat?

I was thinking of starting around 11/1130 - so we can get an hour or so in before his nap.

Is that too early for a Sunday?

ETA: Now that I'm thinking about it, I feel like noon might be better

Sorry but I would be annoyed if ppl starting ringing my bell that early on a Sunday morning. I think after Noon is better. However, I hate when ppl ring my bell anytime of day so I might wrong.

I'd be ok with it. But, I will say that kids didn't come around until after 1 last year.

I think that is too early. Remember, a lot of people have church or sports on Sunday mornings, so you may not even get a lot of people home at that time.

We aren't going until 3.

crashing! I'm not a mom yet, but I can tell you that I was peeved last year when I got trick or treaters at 10am! I think early afternoon like 1pm is really more appropriate

It is halloween on a weekend - so at least in my neighborhood 11-12 you will see families with young children. I think that is perfectly acceptable time. I greatly prefer someone coming at 10 or 11 am (we are up before 7 anyway) than ringing my bell at 9 or 10 pm.

You can't please everyone - there will be someone who will be upset at 1 pm b/c they are sleeping in or at 2 or 3pm b.c their children might be napping. I wouldn't go earlier than 11 though - I know in our town weekends you can do landscaping after 10 am and many people do. Just be prepared that some people might not be home at that time b.c they are in church or at their child's sports event.

I'm hoping nobody bothers us before noon.

We like to sleep in and then do a big family breakfast on Sunday mornings

Is trick or treating a bother? I am not saying this in a nasty way, but I LOVE trick or treaters coming to my house and I always wondered about the people who never answered the door. Do people just not like giving out candy?

Last year, the trick or treaters in our neighborhood started coming around 1-1:30 ish.

I remember when I was younger, and Halloween fell on a weekend, my mom used to make me wait until 2pm to go out.

Anyone ringing our bell or knocking before noon on a Sunday is a bother.

After 12 is fine but before that it is rude.

Re: What time is too early to trick or treat?

Not a mom yet, but I say not till after 12, due to church. I know near me, the businesses in town are doing trick or treating Saturday and Sunday day, but the children won't come around until the evening.

ETA: I love all trick or treaters and get so excited to see them, so I'm happy if they come anytime!!!1

I know how excited kids are to go T.o.T. so I don't care what time people come to our house. I'd try to hold them off until 11:30.

I agree, I think the afternoon is a reasonable time.

Also, since it is a Sunday I know a lot of people go to Church in the morning!
