what to bring for christmas eve
my cousin is hosting.
the menu usually consists of:
* pernil (roasted pork)
* white rice
* black beans
* yucca
* green salad
* cuban bread
* flan
it's the SAME food at almost every gathering, but it's so damn good.
those who are asked to bring something, usually add "american" flare to the menu.
i make a "household" gift every year... each family unit gets a trinket gift with a baked item. this year, everyone is asking for fudge.
so... what would you suggest i bring?
i was toying with the idea of stuffed mushrooms... to change it up a bit.
ideas, please. thanks.

I always ask specifically what a host wants me to bring, I understand they said 'american flare' but do they want an app, a side, a dessert, you know?
