What to do about stray dog on DH's jobsite (ADDED PIC!)

My DH is a construction worker and is currently on a job inYaphank at the jail. He tells me there is a stray dog living there, for many months now, they are almost sure it is a Pomeranian, but no one can get close enough. Dh got a few pics on his phone and it looks like it is a Pom. I freaked when he told me, but he said the dog is really happy, he chases the men and trucks all day, runs around and a few guys feed him or her (including my DH cuz I send him to work with dog food now!). Anyhow, I keep thinking how the winter is approaching and I really would love to get this dog rescued. DH even said he would love to get him but no one can catch him. I told him they arent trying hard enough. The dog is nicknamed ROSCOE. I told him to take me there on a weekend but he said since it is jail there is security, etc...I'm thinking maybe to email or call a Pom rescuer and see if they wanna go get poor Roscoe!? I thought of sneaking there but if I get arrrested DH will kill me! LOL

Sounds like you are going to have to trap the dog. Best bet is to go to your local shelter and rent a dog trap. They can show you how to set it up.

Please rescue this poor dog soon.

Yea thats what I told DH. I was just discussing it with him, ( I know he is sorry he even told me because I am obsessed and just follow him around the house asking questions) and he said he knows one of the men wants to try to get him to bring him home. I'll see what I can do, and I will also try to find a Pom rescue.

Yeah, I agree, the street is def no home for this dog, even if he seems happy. I agree with Reggie about the trapping. Good luck, and I applaud you for doing this.

Thanks, Diana, and everyone, I really hope I can do something. I was looking up in the attic for Brody's carrier from when he was a pup but I think DH got rid of it. I'll let you know if anything progresses.

That's terrible...this poor little dog living out on the street. I hope you can corral the little guy...
