what to do about this funk i'm in
since the weekend, i've been in this funk. i feel it gets worse when i come to work. i don't know what to do. i'm afraid if i call dh at work, water works will start then i'll be sad with how i'm feeling. i work with the most ungrateful people on earth
what do u do when you're in a funk

After reading some of your posts, I think I would be in a funk at that workplace too. Do you think it comes from the job? I usually try to leave work at work and that helps. I don't want to spend any of my free time at home and with DH on stupid work things.

OMG Gail...I'm right there with you! Such a horrible funk! Today especially. I hate coming in to work on days like this because it makes it sooo much worst...plus it makes me want to walk right out...not a good thing.
Unfortunately I'm no help, but tons of hugs....

When I'm in a funk, unfortunately I eat and since having the baby and PPD I've gained a lot of weight which isn't helping my mood much!
Are you in a funk because of something at work or is it just a general kind of feeling?

I dont blame you. I am in the same situation here. How I like to think of it is like this - this is not a hospital so it doesnt really matter for the good of the world so why should I care that much? I know it sounds a little funny but thats what I do. Just do your job, go through the motions and stick it out until you can find something else. Then make the most of your time with DH and with friends.

Can you do something nice for yourself? Manicure or shopping or an hour at a coffee shop with a good book?
Working with negative people can be an incredibly draining experience.

i think that's what i'll do. i need to get away from the ungrateful person/people. unfortunately, i have lunch with a group. one or 2 of the ungrateful people is in that group

Feel better Gail! When I am in a funk, I try to listen to some uplifting music. Definitely try to get out at lunch and take some time away from your job.

The only thing that helps me is to tell the person/people that are bothering me what they are doing wrong. If that is not possible, then go in the bathroom and have yourself a good cry. even if it takes you an hour. You will feel much better! Or, wait until you get home and let it all out.

treat yourself to something new. that always makes me feel better!
I was having a bad day on Sunday so I went to get a pedicure and then went shopping. it helped

I get in a funk sometimes too. I try to get out (away from work) for lunch to shake that feeling. I've also looked myself in the mirror and decided that I'm going to be in a good mood. It helps sometimes. I hope it gets better!

When I'm in a funk, I try to take a long walk outside or dance. Writing helps me deal with my feelings, too.
Hope things start to look up for you.
