Re: What to do-conflicted about buying things early

I have a history of early losses and registered at 14 weeks-mostly because I live OOS and wanted to do it with my friend who has twins and lives here

I'm personally waiting to see what i get at my shower..

By then I will be 30+ weeks and as I get closer to my due date I will see what I need and then buy stuff..

This is what did as well. I'm so sorry for your losses! Chat Icon

I don't have any experience in losses Chat Icon but it took us a lot to get to this point.

I didn't buy anything for the baby until this past weekend (after my Level II). I always had a sense of fear that something would go wrong & didn't want to have items in the house for the baby if it did. I think if I was in your shoes, I would wait it out a little longer to be on the safe side. There will always be deals & sales Chat Icon

Its more about having to get rid of the things and face that added saddness if god forbid something happened.

This is why I would say wait. Do you rarely see these things on Craigslist or Ebay and that is why your want to buy (like a triple stroller - are there not too many of those out there?) If the items seem to pop up on there fairly regularly, I would wait.

BTW - I might have some clothes for you, if you need more boy clothes. Chat Icon

I never used to be superstitious, but recently I have become more and more. I would wait until you are farther along (thats what I would do) you have to do what is right for you.

This is what terrifies me to go buying anything just yet. DH bought big sister/little sister shirts and I went right back and returned them. It is way too painful to have to do all of this after you suffer the loss Chat Icon

But I do understand wanting to jump on the amazing deals and bargains coming your way and as a hopefully soon-to-be-mommy-of-3 - you are thinking ahead for your family. Are you okay with leaving everything with a family member and have them hold onto everything until the babies come home? It would also place the sadness on them to have to get rid of the items if something did happen and you could focus on healing if it did.
