what TRUSTED hotel booking sites do you use?
Looking to book a room in DC in October. looking for best rate, and not gross
Going alone and never booked my own hotel room before. How embarrassing is that?

kayak (which searches prices and then will direct you to sites with the best prices)
priceline
hotels.com
Read up on reviews on Trip Advisor before you decide on a place...they're my go-to for reviews.
Also once you've narrowed it down, check the hotels' actual websites - sometimes they have better deals than the discount sites above. You never know!

Keep an eye for great deals on groupon or living socials.
If no deals, then just go compare deals on kayak and book the best rate for the hotel you like. I've used most of them and have no loyalty to anyone - just loyalty to saving $. :)

I use kayak and usually book directly with the hotel. We often stay at starwood hotels using points. I used to book via hotels.com, orbitz.com and Travelocity.com.

Tripadvisor for all my research and then Expedia or orbitz for booking.

I price shop at all of them, but I book via the hotel as you have the most "rights" with the hotel when you book directly with them. I call the local hotel phone number to see if they can price match the other websites if the hotel website is not cheaper.

what TRUSTED hotel booking sites do you use?
I research tripadvisor first then book directly through the hotel or as a package on jetblue or whatever airline I'm flying. I justed used hotels.com b/c they had the best rate PLUS an additional 12% off. Saved another $40 lol!
