what type of "real" oatmeal after baby oatmel?
what kind of real oatmeal can you give a 1 yr. old? do you use flavored oatmeal or put fruit in it?

You can still use the baby oatmeal. It has more vitamins and iron than the regular stuff. I would probably avoid the packets for a while unless you do plain since they are loaded with sugar.

Agreed.
Or you can do plain oatmeal, put it in the blender for a few seconds, and add fresh or defrosted frozen fruit.

I use the Earth's Best apple cinnamon and brown sugar. I get them from BRU. DS loves them!

we gave DD the regular oatmeal- but not quick cooking oatmeal.. the kind that you cook for 5 minutes on the stove- that is better.
Then I mix a little fruit in & milk- she really liked it w. bananas best
NOw that DD is older- she likes it w/ honey or brown sugar.

thanks for the info guys! i thought everyyone switched to real oatmeal but i'd rather use the baby oatmeal anyway. i'll stick to that for a while. THANKS!

My DS loves this one.
I also make him plain oatmeal and add fruit. Either some homemade appleasuce or a banana, depending on what I have in the house.

I just use Quaker and add applesauce or a mashed banana with a little maple syrup. She loves it!
