Anything edible that I can munch on on my way home from the wedding! Cupcakes, cake pops, chocolates etc...

I like champagne as a favor for a few reasons.
It is "fancy", it is something that wont go to waste and when you drink it, you are bound to think of the couple who got married and its like you are celebrating their marriage a little bit all over again.

Edible or drinkable -- you can't go wrong with that.
I really can't stand any knick knack type favors and just want something I can eat or drink.

Anything edible. The pretzel favors sound awesome.
We gave hand panted wine glasses. I do see them in a lot of people's homes so I don't think anyone threw them out.
A LIW/LIF member made them!

Donations. I did a donation plus candy. Anything trinket-like goes to waste, I don't use it.

Edible. I gave wine. If I get anything that is not edible it ends up in the garbage in a few weeks because I either don't like it or have no use/ place for it.
this.. we gave wine and chocolates since we had a lot of children and non alcohol drinkers.

What was your favorite Wedding Favor?
I did a wine glass filled with m&m's. So many people asked where we got the wine glasses because they wanted to get more they liked them so much. (I was embarassed to say Dollar Tree).
Went to a wedding recently and they gave shot glasses with their name and wedding date. That went in the garbage. I have no use for it.

We did a mug bc we met at a coffee shop and everyone thought it was so practical. My sister did a donation to 2 charities which I liked bc I then didn't have to bring any crap into my house!

Wine! We did bottles of Parallel 45 Rose, which went with our color scheme. Friends of ours did Duck Walk wine, which was also really good! Most places will give you a discount for buying cases.
For the non-drinking / underage, we gave French macarons from LA Burdick.
For our e-party we did chocolate truffles from the Belgian chocolatier Leonida.
Drinkable / edible is the way to go in my book!

I like edible favors but never really remember them & chocolate often goes uneaten, b/c we already ate/drank too much at the wedding & then they melt before we can eat them.
For non -edible favors, I have kept & used, coasters, a votive holder, and a Christmas ornament.
They were all seasonal and not wedding-y.
I received a tiny picture frame with doves on it that I threw out immediately, and a champagne glass with the couple's wedding info that I only kept b/c I was the MOH & it was family.
Anything with the couple's name & date & I find to be old fashioned & impractical, unless it is on the box/label.
My family insisted that I give an actual favor (supposedly an Italian-American addition), so I gave out small glass bowls with leaves on them (fall wedding.) I have seen them in a few of my guest's homes, but I am sure some people threw them out/ gave them away.
ETA- just keep in mind, you are never going to please everybody, no matter what you pick.

We did a cookbook.
Compiled recipes from all of our family and friends.
Called it "Recipes for Happy Marriage"
Five years later people still tell us how much they use our cookbook and how they just made so and so's recipe!
I loved this idea because it was a keepsake. it was a ton of work, but so worth it!

Chocolate truffles and rum cake. Yum. We did both and people were eating them at their table and asked for extras. Made us feel good to see that as I often see favors left behind at other weddings.

My own ! Full size bottles of wine with personalized labels! Second to that was a really nice beach towel I think from lands end. We also got a personalized glass that we still use.

honestly, the best favor i got was a beautiful italian pitcher. ive used it sooo many times when company comes over. and ive even put flowers in it before. i have no idea how much it cost, and it certainly wasnt in my price range for favor gifts. but it was the best ive received cause i use it so often!!
another good one is when ppl have photobooths and they also offer frames that fit the photo booth picture. we've been to 2 weddings like this and we have always displayed the photos afterwards
edibles are good too....but they get used quickly and are quickly forgotten. the money might be better of going to a charity for a donation.

We did photos. We hired someone to go around to take a formal professional picture of each couple (or family/group if someone wanted a group shot). The vendor used the grounds of our hall as the backdrop and at the end of the evening, each couple received their photo in one of those lucite frames.
DH and I also received a CD a few weeks after the wedding which included all of the photos that separate photographer took. Everyone seemed to love the pictures. Some used it for their Christmas cards and we saw others scanning and using as profile pictures on Facebook.

EDIBLE ALL THE WAY!!!!your money won't go to waste. i always hated trinkets, glass vases or dishes or anything personalized with the couples names and dates. they don't get used in my house and they create clutter, but that is just me.
