Ask her about her policies for emergency visits. We go to a single practice and they will see DD immediately if necessary, any day, any time (office is in her home). However, there is ALWAYS a wait. I mean a long one. We spend almost two hours there for a regular visit.

Re: What would you do??( PED advice)
I see a solo practice and for us we personally love it better than the larger practice - but it isn't for everyone. What I like about my ped:
-We only see him there is no NP or PA in the office so he knows my DD very well and I don't have to update him on what happened the last time we were at the office b/c he saw her not someone else.
- He doesn't use a service so he has all his calls routed to his home during off hours - if I have a problem I know I can call him and he will answer and tell me what to do for her. Since he is a solo he tends to know his patients much better since he is the only one seeing the children. He has always called me back within 30 mins when I have called the office with a question during office hours.
-He only takes 1 week vacation a year - and he has a ped group cover for him that one week.
I never have trouble seeing him - he has Sat hours and will always squeeze a baby in if they are sick and need to be seen.
After every visit he sits down and speaks with me about my DD and her progress or issues and answers any questions I have about her.
