DD will be 4 months when we go to NY for the holidays (we decided to fly). It's about a 2 1/2 hour flight. Should we leave at night (around 9pm) or early morning (around 8am)?

Personally, I always like to fly earlier in the day. I find less delays and then you have the whole day ahead of you.

That's true about the delays, thanks.

Many babies are fussy in the evenings so I wouldn't want to do a trip at night where it might wake them up.

Also - 9 is really late to fly with a baby. If you have any delays with weather etc you could get stuck overnight or not arrive in until very late. At least if you take a morning fight - there is time to move you to another flight if anything goes wrong.

I would take the morning flight. She might even take a nap the whole time. At 9 months old, we took DS on a 3 hr flight and he fell asleep literally on take off, both ways. It was so peaceful! Chat Icon

I've flown a lot with DD and I would recommend the evening flight. Granted we flight across country but she sleeps the entire way. I prefer flying at night, I find it easier to get her to adjust. I don't think you could go wrong either way. It's a short flight.

DD turned 4 months old today, and we're flying to NY from the Midwest on Wednesday...a 2 hour flight. We're flying there in the evening and coming home in the morning. I was interested to see which flight she would do better on.
