Just saw Mohegan Sun is opening June 1st- but I believe only to CT residents at first. I didn't read the whole thing but people were commenting on the post.
NC my cousin took her son to the dentist earlier this week and this Friday she gets to take him for a haircut. The are going to open restaurants and bars at limited capacity.

whats gong on in other states opening
I believe NYC/LI/Westchester Rockland are the only areas of the country where nothing has been lifted yet. I see people in CT eating in restaurants and shopping in small stores. They are celebrating "reopen CT" day. I just want to cry. And before anyone says that we were hit the worst- I know that. But we are talking about going from 900 new hospitalizations a day in NYC in early April, to 50 a day now. Yet that isn't good enough?! I don't think you can use the hardest hit excuse anymore. NJ is actually considered to be the worst effected state right now. They are reporting more new cases & new deaths a day than downstate NY is. Yet they are further ahead in reopening than we are. I really can't comprehend what is going on around me.

i agree its getting crazy now!! I just dont think the metrics are realistic for our are LI just went back down to 4/7.I feel like we are never gong to meet the metrics and the fact that Cuomo opened some of the state will probably make him look like he is being reasonable.
Again I was ok with this lock down but it enough already!

My only saving grace is I will have a summer. I'm going to the beach...super early to ensure I get in with the limited capacity. My hotel in Cape May is opening June 1 so my August vaca is on. Once my pool is open several friends and family members have said they will come. I'll go to the states around us that are open...like for my jersey shore vaca...and spend my money there

Yes. Our friends in Florida are living life like normal. Out to dinner, at the gym, getting nails done etc

whats gong on in other states opening
That revolt we have been talking about for a month...it's coming. Businesses in NYC are starting to open. A small business in Manhattan has been open since April 27th, and he says NYPD have been near his store, seen him open, and did nothing. Doctors are signing petitions and sending them to politicians saying that the amount of people dying from the lockdowns are starting to rise, as the numbers of covid related deaths decline. There is a large group of NYC small business owners that are planning on opening their doors next week. They are desperate. There livelihoods are being destroyed. I fully support them in doing this. NOBODY is helping them. If you don't have Covid, nobody cares about you. It is actually vile what is going on right now.

A guy in NJ opened his gym. The first day the cops did show up and told him he was in violation of governor's orders and to just be safe and have a nice day. It was clear they didn't want to do anything. Later their supervisors got wind of it and came back and issued him a summons. He has a lawyer and is willing to pay the fines but will also being going to court to fight it. You're going to be seeing more and more of this as time goes on
ETA..i will absolutely patronize any business that chooses to open

Did you see how some state legislators are suing their governors and winning? Wisconsin's governor extended his states stay at home order through May 30th, and it was overturned.

A bunch of stores in my town opened a few weeks back (I didn’t know about it - small boutique stores). Some of the restaurants have set up bars for to go drinks.
But then again there are folks posting on the local FB page about a group of kids eating ice cream together, closer than 6ft, and not wearing masks. Many pointed out the obvious thankfully that it is near impossible to eat ice cream while wearing a mask but some also said stay home so this will go away.
We flattened the curve. We should’ve been home 2 weeks. After two weeks it was obvious it wasn’t enough time as the curve was still increasing but now is time...

Wow...Hearing things like that gives me hope. I know there was a mayor of some town in CA who refused to keep his beaches closed despite the governor's order. He knew it was possible to socially distance on his beaches. The sheriff in his town also said his cops would not be enforcing the beach closure but would be enforcing social distancing on those beaches. It's good to see that more and more people are standing up to this govt overreach.

One state here made an ice cream shop rule, lol. You are allowed one lick in the store. Then you can dig in when you are 50 meters from the store.

NJ: Gov. Murphy allowing onsite graduations starting July for HS students and it must be outside.
NC: barbers are starting to open up and salons. My cousin got her eyebrows done over the weekend.
FL: my aunt is in Central FL and I feel like they are business as usual. The JC Penny salon opened this weekend. Her dance classes are doing private sessions.

Wow that's awesome. I hope they can do that for the graduates here too. Someone posted a joke on Facebook about how since Walmart is open and you are allowed to go there at will from the start ,they should have the graduates walk down the aisles at Walmart and announce their names over the speakers.

Florida is pretty much business as usual from what I see from our friends down there.
My boss- who lives in NY but close to the CT border, crossed over to CT this weekend to go to a restaurant. It was patio seating only and he said it was the best thing he's done in months. I wish I lived closer to CT

Yes Florida is seriously doing their own thing. My 60yr old aunt has been living her best life.
I have family who lives in Queens and they actually drove to CT to eat at a restaurant. They posted on IG.

They should or take over the parking lot of a target or one of these empty lots with closed businesses! lol. People can do car parades, it’s the same thing.

Riverhead is doing onsite graduation. They will give each graduate a time to come walk the stage and receive diploma, over the course of 3 days. They haven’t said how many family members will be allowed yet...

Re: whats gong on in other states opening
Just got off our company call and our headquarters in VA will be opening the office in mid June. Employees will be assigned to 3 groups and each group will go in for a week- then home for 2 weeks as the other groups cycle in. They also put a lot of other precautions in place- no shared utensils, plates etc in the kitchen, hiring a person to stay and clean throughout the day, touch less lights, faucets etc, hand sanitizing stations. No conference room use will be allowed in the beginning
It will be optional to go in in the beginning- but they said a lot of people have been asking for a plan to go in to the office- at least for a little bit- so this was the plan they came up with so that those who want to go in can, while the others who cannot or don't feel comfortable yet can still be 100% remote

Ugh - I know. We had a trip in August booked and I have been dragging my feet on cancelling it. I was really hoping we would be in a better state by August. :(

And if people chose to not wear them in 100 degree heat and humidity on a vacation they are paying a ton of money to go on, that is their choice to not go. It doesn't make them a snowflake. Why shouldn't a vacation be enjoyable. Wearing a mask in the Florida summer heat just so I can stand on lines for rides is not my idea of a good time.
