What's the best favor you ever received?
I'm trying to get some ideas for a friend........what's the best wedding/ and or bridal shower favor you received?

My favorite things to get as favors are something edible.
For my cousins bridal shower, I got plastic "clamshell" boxes from the candy supply store and filled them with mini black and white cookies and madeline cookies from Costco and put two lindt truffles in it. They were a big hit

I did a Donation Favor. I donated to my favorite charity (American Diabetes Assoc). I made a donation in every guests name. I put a Favor card on every place setting. Everyone thought it was a great idea. The money spent on favors that are going to collect dust or be eaten in minutes can be put to a better use at a Charity. JMHO.

I don't remember if it was for a bridal or baby shower but I got a little terra cotta pot and flower seeds.

For my Bridal Shower, my mom and sister gave out little pocket mirrors.
For the Wedding, we gave out espresso cups.

I would say I loved my own favor the best!
We had professional cookbooks of all our family and friends recipes made. It was a huge hit at our wedding. People still call me and say "I just made so and so's recipe from your cookbook!"

honestly--best favor was a ceramic spoon rest---it turned out the colors on the spoon rest matched the earthy tones of our apt. very nicely and it is used daily when i cook!

African violets or an ice cream scooper.
eta. I also like ornaments because when I put them up every year, I think about the person.

I have 2 favs. We got Espresso cups at DH cousin's wedding 2 years ago and I still use them even after I got the ones I registered for.
And my best friend gave out these Italian Platters. It is a great serving piece!

I made hand-painted wine glasses- a pair per couple as well as a pair per single. I didn't think it would be fair for all of my single friends to end up w/ 1 glass!
That's actually how my business started... I got a bunch of orders from my own favors...

i got an umbrella at the last weeding i went to. it was the best! they were brown, to match her color scheme of the wedding. it just so happened to be raining that night, so it was perfect.
i gave the love coasters out. i still love those too.

i love donation favors. i think they mean the most because they are usually in memory of someone or supporting someone who is sick.
food is good too--like chocolate

I did a donation as well, and I wrote a poem about the different places the donations were going (my cousins memorial fund, my best friends memorial fund and my father in laws memorial fund)

I didnt because they were being served form the hall with the cake

I did coasters and everywhere I go (I mean to people's house or apartments that were at my wedding) they are using them so it makes me feel good :)
I feel that it was a useful favor!
