what's the deal with cold medicine for toddlers?
I thought it was a no-no for children under 2, but I just googled it and now they are saying no cold/cough medicine for children under 6?
I know it doesn't make the cold go away any faster, but I would think that it helps them to feel better just like it helps adults to feel better.
So, what's the big concern with not giving cold medicines? Overdosing?
Does everyone go by this? no cold medicine under 6?

In October 2007, the FDA recommended that no over-the-counter pediatric cough and cold medicines be administered to children under age 2 due to the risk of serious and life-threatening side effects including rapid heart rates, convulsions and loss of consciousness
