whats your fav splurge for yor kids??
dh and i were talking last night and trying to figure it out - whats the one thing you spend $$ on that you prob don't need to but do anyway for your kids???

music class... I am not sure if a 4 month old (she was 4 months when she started) needed to be going to music class and I got lots of  from people...but she enjoys it and so do I

It may sound boring, but buying DD organic milk, fruit and veggies. She would prob. be fine with regular. But DH and I both feel better about feeding her milk with no added hormones and certain fruit/veggies with no pesticides.
It is expensive, but it is a choice we have made.

Interesting post...
Lamb chops. Its heriditary though (my mom got them for me)
DS (18 mos) doesn't really eat meat protien. My mom and I had lamb chops one day and he wanted one. So we gave it to him. He DESTROYED it.
He's so cute when he's eating them, does a little happy dance in his highchair...how can you not get them for him"?

My boys are still young 2 & 5 months, so i dont splurge much on them now. But for DD (she is almost 9), we get our nails done together. thats our time to get away from the boys and just hang out.

Clothes - she has nicer clothes than I do. I buy a few things every season at Dennys or boutique type stores or Bloomingdales and I just love how she looks when she wears it.

I am big on events and outings. I love parties, especially Birthday and Halloween. I try to throw great ones every year.
I also love to take Ava to shows- Broadway and Off Broadway. She has seen more shows than most adults.
Also activities. Art, music dance classes.

food! i buy all of his clothes on sale, and most of his toys were gifts, so that's all that is left 
i love the gerber graduates snacks and even though they cost an arm and a leg i haven't found any snacks i like as much!
oh and he is starting on milk now, DH bought him organic milk and i think we'll stick with that. we don't normally buy organic but every little bit helps right?

its so silly, but ice cream.
on our walks we pass an ice cream shop.
He's good, he doesn't ask all the time, but sometimes he does, so we stop in for a cone.
sounds silly, but I am a real cheap a$$.
spending 3.00 on a cone when that could buy 1/2 gallon kills me, but he's such a good boy we buy it and go sit by the train tracks.

i dont know if its my fav splurge, but i do buy DD atleast one good pair of shoes for each season, she has small feet so its not always easy finding the "cheaper" shoes in something that will fit right.
i dont spend a lot of money on things i buy pretty much everything on sale that she may want/need except for her shoes.

organic milk, stride rite shoes, and i can't leave a store without (yet another) book! but, i can shop a gymboree sale like nobody's business! once i splurged on hair clips and i know i'll do that again when she gets some more hair! little girls are so much fun to shop for!

Same here.....we have taken Music Together since Septemeber when DS was 3 months old. Unless you do it & SEE his reaction & how he recognized songs & the teachers voice the first times.....well I don't expect them to get it!
But he loves it! Music is very calming to him now...if he gets cranky or won't eat,we put the CD's on......when he is sleepy I sing to him......
It's great for US!
