I work for one of the 'legacy' financial institutions, as an analyst in the fixed income reference world. I am at a point where I am about to explode - this coming weekend is the 16th weekend in a row that i have worked. I have no social life. I seldom come home from the city on a peak train. I can't make any plans more than a week out. Granted I do work from home, but the end result is that I spend the equivalent of commuting time working, so its a win for the company

is this the new norm? does upper management really think we have no breaking point? I don't think so and i am just curious if there is any green grass out there, especially in financial services

needless to say I am dusting off the resume, but I'm interested in any feedback
