Re: When can a blood test detect pregnancy?
When I went to my RE last week-- she told me that a blood test detects 5 hcg, whereas HPTs are 50... while we are know there are more sensitive ones out there-- that is what she said.
I am not sure what day that would be-- but, it really varies from woman to woman.

Re: When can a blood test detect pregnancy?
If you have a quantitative test, you would be able to tell a day or so after implantation- as soon as the HCG reaches above 5. A qualitative would take a bit longer because it is a higher number of HCG before it is considered a "yes".
Is there something you'd like to tell us?

Oh I wish! I'm ovulating today, so no news yet!
I'm just wondering because I'm going for an annual exam today and to start to talk about if there are any IF problems. I'm thinking maybe I will ask if I can go for CD 21 testing, at which point I'll be 7 dpo. So I wanted to know if they could tell by then if I was pregnant.

7dpo may still be too early for a blood pregnancy test.
