When can we give whole milk...not as a substitute for formula?

Xavier fights Rylan for his milk sippy cups. I mean full on wrestling and growling...it's hysterical. I let him drink a few sips before taking it away.

Has anyone given their infant DC milk just to drink...again not as a substitute for formula.

Forgot to add Xavier will be 9 months in a few days.

I don't see any harm in it as long as he's still drinking formula. We started transitioning DS to whole milk at 10 months as per the ped and we could have started earlier if we wanted to.

I don't see it as a problem. Are his cups different? Would he take formula in his brother's cup?

I wish I had a milk drinker!

I know my sister weaned from BFing at 10 months and went straight to whole milk.

I don't really see a big deal with it if you know he doesn't have a milk allergy and it is in addition to his regular formula intake.

I started the change with Rylan at 10 months also...I was scared he wouldn't like it so i started early.

It's the milk he likes...if I put formula in the cup he won't touch it. He will fight to the point of Rylan giving up for his milk sippy...lol.

My DD does the same exact thing! She is 9.5 months. I let her have it the same way. Started out letting her have a few sips, but she's had up to half a cup. She still gets BM. I dont give her the milk instead of BM--just when she steals it lol
