when did DC start on straw sippy cups?
She's doing really well on the spout ones, and I know straw is supposed to be better, but when I tried giving her the straw one she acted like I was giving her poison!!! So when did you start with straw sippys?

wow, my DS isn't 100% into regular sippys let alone straw ones. Hmm, I'm interested to know as well.

we started with sippies (both kinds) at 6-7 months but DS didn't "get" it till about 10 months! around 11 months i re-introduced the straw sippies (i probably could have done it earlier) and after a couple of tries he really got it down and that's all he takes now.

OK thanks, DD is 8 months and is drinking out of the sippys regularly we're actually doing one "bottle" feeding now out of a sippy to slowly transition away from the bottle...so I'll try again with the straw later!

@ 7 months because he was getting his top teeth in and wouldn't use his normal cup. He never looked back and now that is all he takes. He has only mastered it recently though.

Kaydyn "got" the straw sippies around October (she was 10 months)...but then we stopped using them and we tried to reintroduce them to her a couple of weeks ago (she is 19 months) and she cannot get the hang of it...she tries to lift it like the bottle and when she doesn't get anything out she gets frustrated and will refuse to drink out of it.
I would say start introducing them and it might take a little while to get it.
